Day One of Constitutional Carry in Maine

Today, October 15, constitutional carry (the carrying of concealed weapons without a permit) comes to Maine. The law making concealed carry permits optional was passed earlier this year by an overwhelming, bipartisan, vote.

Maine already allowed guns to be openly carried and was a "shall-issue" state for concealed weapon permits.

A business in the state is still permitted to ban guns from the premises.
