The conservative grassroots are typically annoyed at Republican Leadership in Congress. They feel either unheard or not represented in their views and values. After four years of Joe Biden and Chuck Schumer, Americans want change. The border is wide open, wars are breaking out across the globe, taxes are higher, prices are higher, and crime is back on the rise. Republican voters want leadership that represents America First policies. We saw during the first term, and even after President Trump left office, there were occasional spats with GOP Leaders on Capitol Hill. When President Trump is back in the White House, and Senate Republicans have the majority, they will need leaders who can work with President Trump to implement his agenda. The best choice for Senate Republicans to be the No. 2, the Republican Whip, is Senator John Barrasso from Wyoming.

Senator Barrasso would be a formidable majority whip. He is well liked by his colleagues, hardworking, humble, smart, conservative, experienced, and tested. He has a strong relationship with President Trump, and is trusted by him. One thing I know about Senator Barrasso: he has never been complacent or for the status quo. He has innovated and been a disruptor in every position. This is a good thing, he brings a different vantage point, and fixes the things that do not work for the Republican Conference, and builds upon the successful aspects.

As Vice Chair of the Conference, he drew clear aim at the Obama regulatory agenda, making a boring topic the concern of everyday Americans. As Policy Chair, he rebuilt a library of conservative policy and solutions to meet the challenges of today. As Conference Chair, he's collaborated like never before to amplify Senate GOP voices. Barrasso led the communications effort against Democrats on their failed impeachment of Trump. He went on offense promoting President Trump and Senate Republicans' policies and accomplishments: confirming conservative judges and justices, tax cuts, strong trade deals, and rebuilding the military.

Conservatives across the country can trust Senator Barrasso. He is a voice for the grassroots conservatives that are fed up with Washington’s spending and weakness. He voted against radical Biden appointees like Yellen, Blinken, and most notably Garland, even as other GOP leaders voted for them. Barrasso had the spine to stand up against Biden’s most destructive cabinet picks. More recently, he voted against the last omnibus, against the bad debt limit deal, and against the Ukraine/Border deal. As Republican Whip, he will be instrumental in the policy and floor vote decisions for the conference. Having a conservative who is pro-Trump at the leadership table has never been more important for the direction of our country. The next Republican Whip will be responsible for ushering through President Trump’s agenda, policy, judges, and cabinet selections.

Senator Barrasso was ahead of the curve in endorsing America First candidates for Senate right out of the gate. This includes Kari Lake, Bernie Moreno, Tim Sheehy, Jim Banks, and Sam Brown. Barrasso has raised money for and campaigned for MAGA-aligned candidates, not shying away from future senators who will be very pro-Trump. Senator Barrasso is helping send President Trump fighters in the Senate who will back his agenda.

As the race for leadership heats up over the next few months, the most important first step is securing the majority. This way Republicans control the voting schedule and committees, and can help President Trump implement his cabinet and agenda. Conservatives have a leader they can trust in Senator Barrasso. He is competent and tested. It is no surprise he has already locked up the votes for the job. But in politics, you take nothing for granted. Senate Republicans should back Barrasso for whip.
