Is President Obama's Afghanistan plan a step in the right direction?

Contrary to a popular fallacy that science and religion are at odds with each other, it's quite the opposite.

Science and religion are the best of friends. And like good friends, they complement each other and produce beautiful music together.

Take the recent incident of the young woman in Bryan, Texas -- the director of the Planned Parenthood abortion mill down there -- who had a change of heart and quit her job when she saw, for the first time, an unborn child on an ultrasound screen.

Going Rogue by Sarah Palin FREE

As Abby Johnson related her story to Bill O'Reilly, "....what I saw on the screen was a 13-week baby fighting for its life."

She walked out the door, went down the road and joined a local pro-life organization.

The discoveries and technologies that we gain from science make us more aware, confirm and help us understand even more clearly the truths that our religion and faith teach us. As result, like Abby Johnson, we become more responsible.

According to Johnson, "....Planned Parenthood really tries to instill in their employees and the women coming in for abortions that this is not a baby, that this is just a mass of cells. You know, don't say "baby" in the clinic. Don't say "baby" to the women coming in for an abortion. And so you begin to believe that. You begin to believe that it's not a life."

A recent headline in the Los Angeles Times read, "Babies are found to cry in their mother tongue."

The article reported on just published research by French and German scientists showing that the cries of French babies start out low and increase to a high pitch and for German babies it's the opposite -- starting out high and falling. According to the scientists, these "patterns matched the intonation patterns of spoken French...and German."

The French and German research teams say the unborn babies start hearing and picking up their mother's language during their third trimester, a stage when, in our country, they can still be aborted. As science documents the magic of the life of the developing infant, public awareness grows and the willingness to tolerate abortion atrocities diminishes. When we understand that our unborn children are human we become more human ourselves. Continued...

jim#1,
A. Death in childbirth is one of the inherent risks of living. There's no such thing as a 100% safe life. You could choke to death on your next meal. Around 3000 adults do each year.

B. There is NO time when killing the baby will save a mother from dying in childbirth.

Perhaps its never occurred to you that even if you kill the baby the baby's body is still there? That the baby's body still has to be removed somehow.

When natural birth becomes dangerous the cure is not to kill the baby. The cure is to have a C-section to deliver the live, healthy baby -- perhaps a few weeks early, as was done when my 4th was stubbornly breech.

Deaths in childbirth -- which are most common among drug addicts, alcoholics, and others who have compromised their health and neglected their medical care anyway -- mainly occur due to bleeding. Bleeding which will occur regardless of whether the baby survives the birth or not.

Your knowledge of modern obstetrical care is less than nothing -- since much of what you think you know is actually false.

C. Women also die from having abortions. Its hard to determine exactly how many though because Planned Parenthood lies about it and covers it up.

If you're *really* so concerned about women's lives perhaps what you should be advocating is that no woman ever be allowed to ride in or drive a motor vehicle. Over 38000 people died in motor vehicle accidents in 2006.

Mother more important than fetus

Read this mom with 4 kids, and all the information and truth in the universe. That's her opinion.

This from the Internet. A thousand abortions would not pay for the death of these mothers.
--------

In the USA.

U.S. women are dying from childbirth at the highest rate in decades, new government figures show.

The U.S. maternal mortality rate rose to 13 deaths per 100,000 live births in 2004, according to statistics released this week by the National Center for Health Statistics.

Maternal deaths were a much more common tragedy long ago. Nearly one in every 100 live births resulted in a mother’s death as recently as 90 years ago.

-----------
In England:

The report from the Confidential Inquiry into Maternal and Child Health says the death rate has risen by around 40 per cent in 20 years.

The report found that in 1985/87 the death rate was almost ten per 100,000 women. But it had risen to almost 14 per 100,000 in 2003/05.

A total of 223 women died in 1985/87 and 295 in 2003/05.
