Will Congress pass Obamacare by the end of the year?

Once the Obama Administration completed their goal of passing an enormous spending bill with the promise of stimulating our economy, they immediately set their sights on passing legislation to control the health care system throughout the nation.

The Democrats are seeking to replicate the socialized medicine systems of other industrialized nations such as Britain, Canada and Japan, but they are using the tactics of misinformation and stealth to achieve their goal.

"The mainstream news media and liberal politicians are always praising the health care systems in other countries, but they never discuss the nightmare stories emanating from these countries' medical professionals," said political strategist Mike Baker.

"I believe individuals should have the opportunity to select the health insurance policy that best meets his or her needs, which is why I am an original co-sponsor of the Health Care Choice Act. The Health Care Choice Act would enable consumers to choose and purchase affordable health insurance policies that offer a range of benefits," said Representative Pete Hoekstra (R-MI).

Hoekstra and other conservative congressmen want Americans to receive medical care, but they say they don't want the government dictating what care is given and when it is given.

Unfortunately for President Barack Obama, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, and the usual suspects on the far-left, a majority of the American people aren't buying the idea of ObamaCare, resulting in a grassroots uprising similar to the one President Bill Clinton faced in 1993 when his wife attempted a government takeover of medicine. Yes, I saw that column by Mark Steyn - great statement. The 'stimulus' has really been about promoting Obozo - and building a patronage operation.

It seems every government employee who's tried to track the spending with a critical eye has been fired.

My hat is off to you for doing a fine job confronting the paid stooge propagandists who plague this site. Unlike much of their work, it's an unpaid task - but not thankless.

We appreciate your efforts and may know why you do it - because of all who came before us who did their part as well.

Obama As LBJ???
Tyler Hicks/The New York Times

WASHINGTON — President Obama had not even taken office before supporters were etching his likeness onto Mount Rushmore as another Abraham Lincoln or the second coming of Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Yet what if they got the wrong predecessor? What if Mr. Obama is fated to be another Lyndon B. Johnson instead?

To be sure, such historical analogies are overly simplistic and fatally flawed, if only because each presidency is distinct in its own way. But the L.B.J. model — a president who aspired to reshape America at home while fighting a losing war abroad — is one that haunts Mr. Obama’s White House as it seeks to salvage Afghanistan while enacting an expansive domestic program.

By several accounts, that risk weighs on Mr. Obama these days. Mr. Kennedy was among a group of historians who had dinner with Mr. Obama at the White House earlier this summer where the president expressed concern that Afghanistan could yet hijack his presidency. Although Mr. Kennedy said he could not discuss the off-the-record conversation, others in the room said Mr. Obama acknowledged the L.B.J. risk.
