Spanberger Kicks Can Down the Road on Gun Bills

Despite running on affordability, Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger and her fellow Democrats haven't done anything to address the cost of living. They have voted to raise taxes on a bunch of daily services, and there's the whole gerrymandering thing.

There's also gun control, which threatens the redistricting plans. However, it seems Spanberger has a plan.

See, while the clock was running out on the gun control bills, which she didn't want to pocket veto, she decided to take another approach to try and kick the can down the road on the issue.

While the proposed amendments aren't available, they're unlikely to do much to lessen the sting of such Second Amendment infringements on the people of the Old Dominion State.

Instead, the idea is to kick them back to the General Assembly, who will likely repass them, with or without the amendments, and then Spanberger won't have to deal with them until after the state votes on her redistricting plan.

For anyone unfamiliar, the current districting for the state is what many call the 6-5 plan. It has six red districts and five blue, and gives a pretty good respresentation of the state, especially when you look at its electoral history.

Spanberger and her fellow Democrats, despite claiming they had no interest in redistricting, immediately jumped to pass what's called the 10-1 plan. This plan gerrymanders everyting so there will be 10 Democrat strongholds and only one for the GOP.

However, the people of Virginia get to vote on this, which is throwing a wrench in the left's plans. A lot of people don't really like this plan, and if they turn out because of other questionable measures being signed into law, the gerrymandering effort will go down in flames.

So, Spanberger has been sitting on a number of controversial bills, like the plethora of anti-gun measures, until after the vote. I guess she figures that it's a kind of Schrodinger's thing, where no one will know if she's going to sign it or not, so they won't be upset with her until after it's a done deal.

Of course, anyone who thinks she won't sign it is probably too stupid to breathe on their own. The fact that she didn't veto some of these, including that tax hike on everything from hair cuts to lawn services, just shows where she's at on these. She just hopes no one will know for certain.

This is just another way for her to kick the can down the road until after the redistricting vote and hope no one will see what she's doing.

The left is delusional, and the media will likely try and help her however they can, but anyone with more than two neurons to rub together can see what's happening. The question is whether enough of them are outraged that supposedly centrist Spanberger is as lefty as AOC for it to matter.
