Marjorie Taylor Greene Had the Perfect Line for Ilhan Omar in Her Floor Speech

She’s a firecracker. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is pushing to censure Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) for her outrageous speech to her supporters in downtown Minneapolis on January 27, where she essentially said that her true allegiance is to Somalia and blocking the recognition of Somaliland, which is trying to break away. Omar’s speech was met with intense criticism for its misplaced priorities, though the liberal media is protecting her, saying that Republicans are pouncing on misquotes from her speech (via The Hill):

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) moved to force a vote on censuring Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) on Thursday over a disputed translation of comments the Minnesota Democrat made about Somalia and Somaliland, accusing her of being a “foreign agent.”

Greene called her censure legislation to the floor as a privileged resolution, a procedural gambit that forces leadership to hold a vote within two legislative days. Leadership can either bring the resolution to the floor for a vote or motion to table it, both of which would require majority support.

The House is leaving Washington Thursday and is set to reconvene on Monday. Greene said she informed leadership that she was introducing the resolution but did not get an indication of how they would act on it.

In addition to being formally censured, Greene’s resolution would remove Omar from the Budget Committee and Education the Workforce Committee.

“I would love to expel her; I think she should be deported, I honestly do,” Greene told reporters after she moved to force a vote on the censure measure.

If we’re going to mess around with the ‘Omar deportation games,’ she should have been booted when she described the 9/11 attacks as a case where “some people did something.”

As for the misquotes and Omar being a foreign agent, I’m not so sure about that, which we’ll get to in a second, but Greene’s speech during the motion had a very appropriate line that might irritate liberals a tad:

Omar’s social media activity makes me wonder if she was misquoted. I’m erring on the side of no, not really:

If she’s trying to dismiss the ‘Somalia first, Muslim second’ narrative that’s surrounding her, this doesn’t help, but what can you expect from one of the most vocal pro-radical Islamic terrorism voices on the Hill?
