Continuing my coverage of the "Veepstakes," a group supporting Mike Huckabee for VP has lunched a Huck4America webpage -- and petition.  It looks like it was put together pretty hastily -- most likely as a response to MittforVeep.com.  ... Nevertheless, they've got a page up.

Update:
Think this is a reference to Mitt Romney?:

" ... there are rumors that you are considering a choice that would be more moderate on these core issues. Candidates that are, for example, not necessarily pro-life.

... It is important to have a Vice President whose record has been consistently pro-life, not coming to the party simply to run for national office."

Here's their message to Sen. McCain:

Dear Senator McCain,

Now that you have become the presumptive nominee for the Republican Party, the next step is to choose someone join the GOP ticket as your Vice Presidential Nominee.[# More #]

This, by far, is the most important step in your journey towards becoming the next President of the United States. It is equally important that you pick someone whose beliefs most clearly represent the core beliefs of the Republican Party: Pro Life, Pro Family, Pro 2nd Amendment, Pro Tax Reform, and Supporting our Troops who are in harms way.

There is only one true person who demonstrates those qualities and that is former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee. While there are many people who have the qualifications necessary to be President, there is no better choice than Mike Huckabee. With a great combination of core beliefs and fantastic communication skills, he would be a great asset to the GOP ticket and should be the choice for your Vice President.

As with politics, there are rumors that you are considering a choice that would be more moderate on these core issues. Candidates that are, for example, not necessarily pro-life. There were many true conservatives that did not vote in 2006 throughout the country because they felt like their issues had been ignored. 2008 will be much worse if again, conservatives feel like they have been ignored yet again.

It is important to have a Vice President whose record has been consistently pro-life, not coming to the party simply to run for national office.

With that, a choice of a moderate for your Vice President would signal to conservatives you do not feel we need to be part of the process. This is why I believe choosing Mike Huckabee is best for the GOP in 2008.

I sign this petition urging you to choose a pro-life, pro-family, pro 2nd Amendment, and supporter of our Troops...Mike Huckabee as your Vice President.

Sincerely yours,
