Joe Biden Remains Righteous: Embarrassed by Election, Brags About His Travel Miles

Vice President Joe Biden has never been one to simply retire from his career as a life-long politician.

During the 2016 presidential cycle, he made his voice heard on numerous occasions, many times about himself and what he could have done better than any other candidate.

“I find myself embarrassed by the nature and the way in which this campaign was conducted,” Biden said on Thursday during a forum in Washington sponsored by the New York University School of Law. “So much for the shining city on a hill.”

“This has been a very tough election. It’s been ugly; it’s been divisive; it’s been coarse; it’s been dispiriting,” Biden said.  “For a lot of folks, it feels as if we’re more divided than we’ve ever been in our history and that the election brought out the worst in the political system.”

On Monday, Biden said, "Yeah, I am. I am going to run in 2020."

In an April CNBC interview, Biden said he was not "comfortable" with the title "Goofy Uncle Joe.”

“And by the way, the so-called Goofy Uncle Joe — if you notice, I beat every Republican in every poll when they thought I was running,” he said before adding, "I did the Iraq thing."

During an interview with ABC News in May, Biden said he would have been the best choice for president in 2017.

"I think I would have been the best president, but it was the right thing not just for my family but for me," not to run, Biden said.

During the forum in Washington on Thursday, Biden said, "As Vice President of the United States, I traveled over 1,200,000 miles.  I traveled to meet with virtually every head of state in the world.  I've been doing this along time, I know, I've met every single one."

One can only wonder who in the federal government was paid to log Biden's travel miles.
