Another Day, Another Lie From That Fire-Alarm-Pulling House Democrat [UPDATE: Repudiated By Other Dems]

AP Photo/John Minchillo

The Congressman in question is New York Democrat Jamaal Bowman -- who infamously pulled a Congressional fire alarm to try to delay a vote, then lied about it until surveillance footage made the nature of his actions undeniable.  He's since been criminally charged and pleaded guilty, but definitely doesn't want to talk about either his behavior, or his lies to try to cover up his behavior.  During the immediate aftermath of that episode, his staff lashed out at Republican critics, shamefully invoking 'Nazis' as part of their deranged and counter-productive damage control efforts.  Since that episode, Bowman has been rather busy, notching one of the few votes against a resolution condemning Hamas terrorists for their horrific massacre of at least 1,200 Israeli civilians last month:

He also voted with dozens of House Democrats against this measure:

It seems there are certain, rare forms of hate some Democrats are willing to tolerate, or at least to single out for specific denunciation without resorting to an 'all lives matter'-style deflection. Needless to say, Bowman was pushing a Hamas-favoring "immediate ceasefire" within days of the terrorists' slaughter, before Israel had even begun its primary military response to the butchering of its civilians.  In advocating for this anti-Jewish-self-defense policy, Bowman actually Gentilesplained that he was doing so to uphold what it "actually means to be Jewish," or something:

Well, he's at it again:

Many people have noted in response that while checkpoints certainly exist in the West Bank, for the purposes of Israeli national security, none would ban an American member of Congress from entering a 'Jews only' territory. It's fiction. "Evidence" to the contrary makes no sense and doesn't remotely vindicate Bowman's allegation (see updates).  Bowman surely knows that the easiest way to breeze through any checkpoint with fabricated rules is by pulling the fire alarm.  Back in reality, instances in which checkpoints have been abused by Israeli soldiers, there are significant consequences.  Observers also note that there are, however, areas of the West Bank where Jews are not allowed (and as a reminder, prior to the anti-Hamas invasion, the only Jews in Gaza are hostages).  In fact, a notorious incident in 2000 showed what can happen if Jews accidentally take a wrong turn in the West Bank.  A lynching:

What began with a wrong turn on a dusty West Bank road ended with a ferocious attack by a chanting mob of hundreds of Palestinians on three helpless Israelis. Officials said the three, at least two of them Army reserve soldiers driving to a call-up at a West Bank base, took a wrong turn north of Jerusalem early yesterday...The Israelis made a U-turn, and headed for the police station in central Ramallah and ran inside for safety...The mob outside the police station quickly grew to 1,500 people, many chanting “Death to the Jews.” Suddenly, about a dozen men climbed into the station through a window, according to TV videotape that captured the chaotic scene. One of the rioters appeared at a second-floor window and made a victory sign, while several men were seen in the background pounding on something or someone lying on the floor.

As the crowd roared in approval, the body of a man was tossed out the window and landed head down.  A second man was pushed out the front door. The mob stomped and beat the bodies with the broken bars of a window grille.  “We saw dozens of frenzied people holding bloodstained knives and hitting someone,” said TV co-producer Eti Vizaltir. An Israeli military official said he understood that the wife of one of the reservists called his cell phone. “And a Palestinian picked it up and said, ‘We are now slaughtering your husband,'” he said. Two bodies were later recovered by the Israelis, and Prime Minister Ehud Barak said later a third Israeli had died.  Army officials said the bodies had been badly mutilated, and one was beaten beyond recognition.

I'll also note that Saudi Arabia only recently amended street signage that explicitly banned all non-Muslims from proceeding toward Islamic holy sites, though the presence of non-Muslims remains strictly forbidden in certain areas of the Kingdom. I'd imagine that most of the people contorting themselves to insist that Bowman was somehow telling the truth about 'non-Jew-no-go zones' have never objected to the Saudi-enforced 'apartheid'/segregation (to borrow a phrase these same sorts of people often abuse).  Their standards, including involving made up or distorted claims, seem to apply uniquely to Israel and Jews, and no one else.  How curious.  I'll leave you with yet more proof of the astounding moral asymmetry in this war.  Note who Israel has agreed to release in order to help bring some completely innocent civilians home:

And by the way, a few related updates...

CAIR keeps coming up, doesn't it? Here's a relevant fact about that organization.
