Video: DNC Vice Chair Gushes Over Eminem's Anti-Trump Rap, Won't Comment on DNC Returning Weinstein Cash

Please enjoy watching these back-to-back clips of controversial Minnesota Congressman and Democratic National Committee Vice Chairman Keith Ellison.  In the first, he's asked whether the DNC will return all contributions from credibly-accused sexual predator Harvey Weinstein.  Thus far, the committee has pledged to rid itself of only a small fraction of Weinstein's tainted largesse -- and even that window-dressing is absurd, as they're simply redirecting it to other groups expressly committed to the election of Democrats, just as Dirty Harvey would have wanted.  Is that really the move they're planning on sticking with?  Ellison won't say:

"I don't have any comments for you right now. I don't know you, and I don't take questions like this."

He won't address the issue in this forum because he doesn't know the reporter, and he doesn't take questions from people carrying cameras on the street. Got it.  Now, here he is on the same day...taking questions from people carrying cameras on the street.  He wants TMZ to know how much he enjoyed Eminem's anti-Trump performance at this week's BET awards, tossing in a tortured Colin Kaepernick parallel for good measure:

"Eminem and many artists make an important cultural contribution, and we need to imbed within our culture that voting is an obligation, is a responsibility, and that if you don't vote, that's not a protest. You can't boycott the vote. If you boycott the vote, you just make sure somebody else is in there who doesn't like you...What Eminem is doing is just being true to his art, which is to inspire and motivate, so I'm grateful to him for that. I love this trend. I hope that others follow suit. You know Eminem could be the ‘Colin Kaepernick' of the rap world if he just keeps it up. We need him to do that. We need him to do that."

The Washington Free Beacon wryly underscores Ellison's amusing blind spots in demanding electoral participation and cheering 'resistance' values while praising the quasi-retired rapper and failed quarterback: "Ellison failed to point out that Kaepernick has been widely criticized for doing exactly what Ellison said citizens should not do–protest without expressing their voice through the vote. While Kaepernick has expressed strong political views and spurred controversy by kneeling during the national anthem, at least as of the November 2016 election, he had never registered to vote in an election. Eminem has a long history of rapping about violence and has used many derogatory and misogynistic terms against women and homosexuals in his songs."  In his mediocre screed against Trump, Eminem instructed his fans -- in his own delightful style -- that they must choose between enjoying his music and supporting Trump:

"Any fan of mine who's a supporter of his/ I'm drawing in the sand a line/ You're either for or against/ And if you can't decide who you like more/ And you're split on who you should stand beside/ I'll do it for you with this," he finishes, his hand blurred as he presumably flips his middle finger.

That's not actually how any of this works, but even if it were, I'll leave you with two questions:
