Trump, DHS Secretary Take Jabs at Press During Coast Guard Commencement

President Trump delivered the commencement address at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Wednesday, where he couldn't help taking a few jabs at the American press, who have been a thorn in his side since he announced he was running for president.

“No politician in history has been treated worse or more unfairly” by the media than him, Trump said.

Yet, he used his tense relationship with the press to share some advice with the graduating class.

“Adversity makes you stronger," he said. "Don’t give in and don’t back down and never stop doing what you know is right. Nothing worth doing ever, ever, ever comes easy—the more righteous your fight, the more opposition you’ll face.”

Trump was presented with a ceremonial saber at the event, after which Department of Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly also took the opportunity to have some fun at the media's expense. He jocosely told Trump in a hot mic remark that he should consider "using" the gift on the press.
