Obama on Premium Hikes: Meh, They'll Only Affect a 'Handful of People'

President Obama showed how much compassion he has for Americans who are going to be negatively impacted by his health care legislation during a rally for Hillary Clinton on Thursday. It was recently announced that Obamacare premiums are expected to rise by an average of 25 percent. In some states, like Arizona, the increases could get as high as 100 percent.

The author of the legislation, however, claims the numbers are not nearly as bad as they appear.

“Because premiums are going up, its true premiums are going up for a handful of people that don’t get tax credits,” Obama said.

How sympathetic.

The GOP called out Obama for minimizing the issue, reminding him how 2.2 million Obamacare subscribers did not receive subsidies. Elderly customers without subsidies will be especially hurt by the premium hikes.

The president chooses to tune out these facts. Despite the unaffordable nature and unpredictability of his health care legislation, he continues to give it excessively high marks.
