Petition Calling For The Cincinnati Bengals To Become The Cincinnati Harambes

I've covered the "RIP Harambe" meme before on Townhall. Since Harambe's most untimely death at the end of May in the Cincinnati Zoo, the internet has made a joke doing over-the-top mourning. Now, a petition is circulating asking the Cincinnati Bengals to rename the team to the "Cincinnati Harambes."

As of press time, 10,000 people have signed the petition. The petition explains that since the Cleveland Browns were named after a former coach, the Cincinnati Harambes would similarly be named after a local hero.

The petition will be delivered to the city of Cincinnati and the Bengals.

Also on the football front, Boston College QB Patrick Towles announced on Instagram that he would be dedicating the upcoming season to the fallen primate.

Dedicating this season to the realist there ever was... #RIPHARAMBE
