Potential Trump VP Angers Pro-Lifers With Abortion Comments

On Sunday, Retired Lt. Gen Michael T. Flynn, a member of Donald Trump's VP shortlist made comments on abortion that have some pro-lifers crying foul. Speaking on ABC's "The Week," Flynn said that abortion was a "difficult issue" but that women should have the right to choose.

These words didn't sit too well with pro-lifers, including some who had previously praised Trump.

Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser, who wrote "The Pro-life Case for Trump," said that Flynn's comments had "disqualified" him as a VP pick.

Considering Trump has had serious issues when it comes to messaging and the pro-life position (which is the Republican Party's platform), it probably wouldn't be a wise move to pick a running mate who is in favor of abortion rights. Trump is having a hard enough time convincing people that he'll be a suitably conservative candidate.

The RNC begins on July 18, and there's no timetable just yet for when Trump will announce his VP pick.
