Maryland Governor's Cancer '95 Percent Gone' After Chemotherapy

Here's some good news after today's craziness: Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R), who was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma this past June, said today that the cancer was "95 percent gone" following three rounds of chemotherapy treatments. Hogan has another three rounds of treatment remaining, which he said was "kind of overkill" but necessary to ensure that all of the cancer cells are gone.

“I aced my test,” said Hogan, sporting a bald head and a wide grin. “Ninety-five percent is gone, disappeared, dead. I still have some remnants of the tumors, but it’s dead.”

Hogan said the progress that he has made over the last two months since doctors discovered 60 tumors the size of oranges, apples and golfballs throughout his body, including on his neck, chest abdomen and groin has surprised his team of doctors.

“They were shocked at the results,” Hogan said. “They were saying ‘we could not possibly have hoped for a better scan than that’.”

This is wonderful news. Hogan's prognosis was not great when he was first diagnosed, and it's fantastic to hear that he's on the road to recovery.
