Newsom, Harris Plan to Campaign In These Hotly Contested California Districts In Final Pre-Election Push

California Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom (D), who's running for governor this election cycle, and Sen. Kamala Harris (D) plan to campaign together this weekend in a final push for Democrats ahead of Election Day. The two progressive firebrands plan to stump in Southern California in four hotly contested races, POLITICO reported.

The pair will stop in Santa Clarita to campaign for Katie Hill, who is challenging incumbent Rep. Steve King (R). They also plan to stump for Assembly candidate Christy Smith.

Democrats have targeted King's seat as potential seat that they could flip.

The two will meet with Chelsea Handler to campaign on behalf of Katie Porter who is challenging incumbent Rep. Mimi Walters (R).

48th Congressional District

They are also scheduled to show up at Harley Rouda's campaign off. He's running against GOP incumbent Rep. Dana Rohrabacher. His seat is another district that Democrats have targeted.

49th Congressional District

Newsom and Harris will campaign on behalf of Democratic candidate Gil Cisneros, who's running against Republican Board of Equalization member Diane Harkey. Both candidates are vying for Rep. Darrell Issa's (R) seat now that he is retiring.

Newsom took to Twitter to promote the "Blue Wave" that he says will take hold in California.

He also shared a campaign video talking about how California is the "resistance to what's going on," clearly referencing President Donald Trump and his agenda.

Democratic mega donor Michael Bloomberg has also dropped big money to help Democrats win a few of these California seats that they've deemed critical. He has spent $4.4 million million on attach ads against Rep. Rohrabacher and $5.1 promoting Katie Hill in CA-25.
