The Left loves diversity. Just ask them, and — like CrossFit enthusiasts and vegans — they'll gladly tell you. Embracing other cultures ensures a "diverse" society, rich with tolerance, love, unicorns, and rainbows.
Unless they don't like you, that is. Then embracing other cultures is "cultural appropriation," and they'll go out of their way to destroy you, whether it's a prom dress or your restaurant. And when that utopia of diversity meets the reality of incompatible cultures, they'll call you a racist and xenophobe for noticing, as they do in the U.K., where "diversity" has led to a skyrocketing number of reported rapes.
At the same time, the Left will also say that Western nations have "no culture." It's a great semantic sleight of hand with one purpose: to destroy Western culture (which does, in fact, exist). By saying the West has "no culture" and importing people from cultures wholly at odds with Western values and the pluralistic, small-L liberal society such Western values built, the commies inch us ever closer to their vision of a world free of American and British influence.
They're almost there in Britain (and other parts of Europe), where the leaders would rather bend the knee to radical Islamists than defend their own people. Not too terribly long ago, I shared how Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen once said the day is coming when women are "asked" to wear a hijab in solidarity with Muslim women. When has a government ever "asked" citizens to do anything without the threat of punishment? Never.
And because Muslim women don't get a choice in whether or not they wear a hijab, forcing such garb on Western women is not "solidarity," it's conquest and capitulation to an ideology that treats women worse than animals.

This mentality keeps popping up in Leftist circles, where they seem to get a sick sense of perversion by sticking our women and girls into such oppressive garb.
They say it's for "solidarity" or to "experience the culture," as this Leftist woman did. This is reportedly from an October 2017 plenary session of the Welsh Parliament. The woman is Bethan Jenkins.
"I was wondering if we could get every child [in Wales] to wear a hijab so they can experience the culture."

How about you make all Muslim girls take off their hijabs so they can experience our culture too? (I won’t hold my breath) pic.twitter.com/OASf2H1XWS
"In one school, they had a white girl wearing a hijab, and she walked down the street, and she then came back, and she said how different she felt she'd been treated because she was just wearing one piece of head ware," she said. "I think these types of things would help children who've never been introduced to other communities or other ethnicities in their lives to try and understand how it is to live in those everyday experiences."
So here is my question: how come there's never a call to free Muslim women and girls from the hijab so they can experience our culture? After all, these Muslims are living in a nation where head coverings are not the norm, where the culture is that women don't have to cover their bodies because we expect men to behave themselves, and punish the men who don't (or we used to).
It's a culture where they're not chattel, but have equal rights and freedoms.
Their culture, on the other hand, views them as property. In Afghanistan, women and girls are prohibited from working, going to school, seeing doctors, speaking in public, being seen from windows, and basically any aspect of daily life. In the U.K., "asylum seekers" from that backwards hellhole said they sexually assaulted British girls because they didn't realize women weren't property in the U.K.
Diversity and "solidarity" are not forcing Western women and girls to role-play submission in order to appease cultures that deny women basic human dignity. It is not “education” to dress free people in the symbols of their oppression. A society that truly values women does not ask them to simulate oppression for the comfort of ideologues who refuse to confront the barbarism they imported in the name of tolerance. At some point, the West must decide whether it still believes in its own values — or whether it is content to surrender them, piece by piece, under the lie of “solidarity" and "experiencing the culture."
