The Democrats' Pattern of Violence

AP Photo/Eric Thayer

There's a concept in psychology called "gaslighting" — that's when an abuser makes a victim doubt his memories, perceptions, and/or sanity for the purposes of manipulation and control. Democrats are absolute experts in it. We need to look no further than what's happening in Minneapolis, MN, right now as proof.

You and I have all seen the videos of Renee Good taunting, stalking, and obstructing ICE officials conducting law enforcement activities in the city. And we've all seen the video when Good makes the fatal decision to accelerate her SUV (encouraged by her wife yelling, "Drive, baby, drive!" while filming) into an ICE agent. That agent used legitimate force to stop a threat and now Renee Good is dead.

Despite what our eyes and ears are telling us, Democrats have spent the past week pretending the shooting was a cold-blooded murder. They said Good was "scared" (but videos showed her smiling), they said she didn't know the man ordering her out of the vehicle was a member of law enforcement (but she'd spent all day tailing them), they said she didn't hit the ICE agent (she did).

That's gaslighting.

And now here's another example of it, wherein we're supposed to believe that the riots we're seeing during both this Trump administration and the last one are somehow the fault of Trump and conservatives.

And while the account in question is a parody, the sentiment is real and the pattern undeniable: Democrats are inherently violent and they've encouraged their voters to engage in lawless rioting, "resistance" and obstruction of federal law enforcement. The pattern is also that the so-called "defenders of democracy" do not, in fact, like democracy, nor do they respect the democratic process.

Donald Trump won the 2016 election and again in 2024. Democrats have spent the past decade claiming he stole 2016, and they spent 2021-2025 trying to put Trump behind bars so he couldn't run again. Instead, they kicked Joe Biden off the ballot and installed Kamala Harris even though she never received a single primary vote, and was so soundly rejected by Democratic Party voters in 2020 that she dropped out before Iowa.

Rather than debate the issues or — heaven forbid — work with President Trump on, well, anything, Democrats do what Leftists have done since time immemorial: engage in violence to get their way.

Here's a two-and-a-half-minute video of many prominent Democrats doing just that.

Of course, Nancy Pelosi, Hakeem Jeffries, Eric Swalwell, and their ilk aren't the ones going out and getting their hands dirty. Instead, they send out women like Renee Good, who they somehow convinced to believe that Trump is Hitler and ICE agents are Nazis. And it got her killed. Of course, the decision to hit the gas pedal is all on Good, but she was on that street because Democrats told her it was her duty to do so in resistance to President Trump.

Instead, they'll trip over one another to get in front of microphones to tell their voters to go out and, as MN Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan demanded, "put their bodies on the line."

Meanwhile, conservatives have jobs and families and lives to live. We're also not violent, despite the Left's gaslighting that portrays us as domestic terrorists for daring to question school boards, as gun-crazed would-be school shooters because we support the Second Amendment, and as disseminators of "disinformation" because we believe the First Amendment lets us say what's on our mind. We all know that's not true, yet the narratives persist.

As Orwell noted, "The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command." That Party is the modern Democratic Party, and they used Orwell as an instruction manual rather than a cautionary tale.

The good news is that gaslighting only works if people agree to deny what they can plainly see. Americans watched the videos. They saw the obstruction, the escalation, and the moment when a bad decision turned fatal. Pretending otherwise isn’t compassion — it’s manipulation. We also see it every time the Left accuses the Right of doing the very things the Democrats are doing. And the sooner people reject the Left’s demand to suspend reality for the sake of a narrative, the sooner we can stop sacrificing lives and sanity to political theater.
