NY Post Columnist Equates Trump's Inauguration With 9/11 and Pearl Harbor

Here's a blisteringly hot take courtesy of Bart Hubbuch, an NFL writer for the New York Post: Donald Trump's Inauguration Day is on par with the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941 and the attacks on September 11, 2001.

Nearly 3,000 people were killed on September 11. The attack on Pearl Harbor killed 2,402. Thus far, nobody has died because of the peaceful transfer of power from one president to another.

To say that this rhetoric is "completely inappropriate" somehow doesn't go far enough. It's reminiscent of how there was a brief meme saying that November 9, the day Trump clinched the election, was the "new 9/11" because of the symmetry of the dates. This, too, was a Very Bad Take on the whole election.

Granted, I'd expect that kind of hysterical rhetoric from my fellow millennials. We're an interesting bunch of people with a wide range of maturity levels and coping skills. I would not expect this from someone like Hubbuch, who has decades of journalistic experience and should, for lack of a better term, "know better" than to make this kind of nonsensical, offensive comparison.

Thankfully, most of Twitter seems to agree with me that this is an incredibly inappropriate take on Inauguration Day.

Get ready for four more years of this BS.

UPDATE: The tweet has been deleted and Hubbuch has apologized for his "insensitive and wrong" comparison.
