Democracy Isn’t Dying in Darkness, Democrats Are Murdering It in Broad Daylight

The leftist Democrats who claim to be guardians of Democracy — the Adam Schiff and Chuck Schumer types — have spent years lecturing America about how supposedly endangered and fragile “our democracy” is. Never mind, of course, that America is a republic.

Amplified by the likes of The Washington Post and The New York Times along with the talking heads at MSNBC and CNN, these Democrats claim that the mere existence of Trump and his supporters means that America could cease to exist as we’ve known it at any moment.

“Dangerous,” they call Republicans who believe in shrinking government and holding bureaucrats accountable. “Unprecedented,” they say of any action that runs against the status quo of taxing, spending, and profiting off the trust of the American people. “The end of days!” they shriek when Republicans win over Americans with their messages.

In addition to fundamentally misunderstanding America’s type of government and its founding principles, Democrats’ ludicrous fear-mongering also ignores our country’s incredible history which demonstrates, through much strife, that our democracy republic is not some fragile flower that only Democrats can save from Donald Trump and the Republican party.

This republic defeated the “unbeatable” British empire. Twice. America survived the Civil War and emerged as a country closer to its founding ideals. We won two world wars, defeated evil, and liberated millions. Whether you agree or disagree with the substance of Trump’s policies or how he communicates, he’s not an existential threat to the United States.

Screaming into the sky about the death of “our democracy,” Democrats act and talk as though America survived 2016-2021 by some stroke of luck and simply can’t survive another four years of Trump or whichever Republican they decide is the next grim reaper of democracy. Democracy will die in darkness, or something.

Yet it is these same Democrats who, while insisting that Republicans are scheming to establish some sort of totalitarian government in the shadows, are trying to murder “democracy” in broad daylight.

This week, the Colorado Supreme Court declared — without any due process — that Donald Trump is guilty of a federal crime, ineligible to be president, and unable to be listed on their state’s primary election ballot. Not only will Trump’s name not appear, but election officials are prohibited from counting write-in votes for Trump. It would take creativity to think of something less democratic than telling Coloradans who they can and cannot vote for in a supposedly fair election.

The Supreme Court is expected to overturn the Colorado ruling, but Democrats have again put the fully anti-democratic actions of their quest to save “democracy” on display, in broad daylight, for all to see.

Democrats are also, of course, the party seeking to destroy the Supreme Court of the United States through policy, public pressure, and nearly any means necessary. Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland failed to hold those carrying out unlawful harassment and intimidation of Supreme Court justices during their consideration of the Dobbs case accountable.

Senators Chuck Schumer and Sheldon White[s-only club]house have cast aside any and all rules of the upper chamber to wage a congressional intimidation campaign against originalist justices on the Court and anyone associated with them.

Threats to pack the court come from congressional Democrats such as Elizabeth Warren, while their leftist activist supporters take things a step beyond in their calls to “abort the court” and abolish it altogether. Those calls, as always, go uncondemned by Democrats who pretend to care about the institutions of our government.

It was and has been Democrats who first sought to sow doubt, loudly and publicly, about the legitimacy of “our democracy” and its institutions. The Supreme Court? Only legitimate when it rules as Democrats wish. The Electoral College? Only problematic when a Republican wins. Elections? Democrats only lose when Republicans collude with foreign countries.

These are the same people who attempt to wrap themselves in the flag of “our democracy” as gladiators defending America while simultaneously arguing that our founders were irredeemable individuals, America’s beginnings were rooted in racism and genocide, and the United States continues to be a deeply flawed place unworthy of celebrating.

So no, Democrats aren’t champions of “democracy.” They don’t value America and what it stands for. They attempt, at seemingly every turn, to undermine our principles and the institutions that stand in the way of their agenda. And, as seen again this week, they don’t believe Americans should have a choice in our elections. They brag about and flaunt their anti-democratic agenda, then laugh as their mainstream media allies cheer them on.
