Last week, "white dudes" got together for the "White Dudes for Harris" Zoom call to support Vice President Kamala Harris in her presidential run. Days before that there had been a "White Women for Harris" Zoom call. There's been plenty said about how wild it is that Democrats segregate their calls by race. That is what those who are part of the radical left do: make everything about race. They also tend to make everything about abortion, as was evidenced when Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg tuned in.
"I'm so glad she has made freedom the theme of her campaign, because I think in so many ways that's at stake," Buttigieg said during the call about Harris. "Of course, women's freedom is Exhibit A after Donald Trump demolished the right to choose. But, of course, men are also more free in a country where we have a president who stands up for things like access to abortion care," he added.
There's plenty to unpack there.
What does Buttigieg mean when he talks about "the right to choose[?]" He's clearly talking about abortion, and he himself speaks about it using the oxymoronic term of "abortion care," but when Democrats talk about "the right to choose," they need to be called out on such language.
Further, when it comes to the claim that former and potentially future President Donald Trump "demolished" that so-called right, what he actually did was nominate justices to the U.S. Supreme Court who then joined with overturning other justices on the Court in overturning Roe v. Wade with the Dobbs v. Jackson decision in 2022. No longer are states held to such strict confines of Roe and its companion case of Doe v. Bolton. States can now decide for themselves what their abortion laws should be, a view that Trump has stuck to when it comes to his 2024 campaign.
What's really concerning are the implications of Buttigieg saying that "of course, men are also more free in a country where we have a president who stands up for things like access to abortion care."

Even though he added an "of course" in there, Buttigieg's remarks are still shocking. He said the quiet part out loud, and such words and their implications should stun the conscience of all of us.
What Buttigieg means is that "men are also more free" when they don't have to be saddled by the consequences of their own actions, even when a unique human being is created as a result, a human being that that man helped create.
For a man to think only of himself and his own sense of being "more free" is hardly a pro-woman or even pro-choice attitude. There's no sense of personal responsibility, or of standing by those in need.
The National Catholic Register, as Levon Satamian highlighted for RedState, included some rather candid comments from women in the pro-life movement about Buttigieg's remarks.
"Buttigieg is just admitting what we have always known about abortion: that it empowers men to exploit women," Ashley McGuire, senior fellow with The Catholic Association, is quoted as saying. "Buttigieg’s male 'freedom' comes at the cost of women’s freedom. It creates a world where men are 'free' to use women and women are coerced into abortions they don’t want to have. That’s not authentic freedom. It’s just domination by another name," she continued.
That brings us back to the start of Buttigieg's remarks on the abortion issue, and one more thing to unpack. Buttigieg had said he was "so glad [Harris] has made freedom the theme of her campaign." It's not only not freedom for the unborn baby, but oftentimes is not freedom for the woman having the abortion.
Emily Davis, the communications spokeswoman for Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, discussed how Buttigieg's remarks apply to her own ex-boyfriend who tried to pressure her into having an abortion, though she refused. "Not only have I experienced this firsthand, but every day more women come forward to talk about how they were pressured or coerced into unwanted abortions, often by male partners," she said.
If you're partaking in the "White Dudes for Harris" call to begin with, it's up for discussion what kind of a man you are to begin with. Kurt Schlichter pointed that out so expertly in his recent columns about those Zoom calls segregated by race.
This is no more evident than when talking about abortion. Any dude can impregnate his partner, and it's no surprise that a bro-choice one would encourage, or even pressure, coerce, or force that woman into getting an abortion so that he doesn't have to be saddled with that unborn child, his child, that she is carrying.
Such concerns are hardly hypothetical. In addition to Davis' example above, research points to how most women who have had abortions say they're pressured into them. Many women did not want to have an abortion and would have chosen otherwise, had they had more emotional and/or financial help. That of course presents an opportunity for the pro-life movement, but the very first person who should be offering that woman support is the father of her baby.
Forget bro-choice fools or the dudes on this call. It takes a real man, to stand up for life, specifically the life of his child, and to stand by that child's mother.
The reality of such remarks, and the points made by others throughout the call, are rather pitiful, pathetic even. Fortunately, in addition to calling them out and mocking them relentlessly, there's also getting through the absurdity of it all with humor. Fox News' Jimmy Failla has done just that with a video sketch fittingly mocking such "beta-males," in addition to also calling out these "losers."
