What took so long? Oh, it was a liberal woman who made a credible allegation of rape. And what about the earlier accusations? Sure, they didn’t involve that much violence, but there were plenty of stories about Platner’s alleged domestic abuse. Later, we learned that The New York Times uncovered sexual assault allegations, but they either refused or didn’t bother verifying the claims, even though they had enough time and sources. Regardless, the allegation was released yesterday, and now everyone is rushing to criticize Platner, but the same people doing that had a different attitude weeks ago.
It was because the emotional abuse allegations were made by a Republican. Lyndsey Fifield deserves an apology. Jenny Racicot is the woman who alleged that Platner raped her in 2021, and now everyone is racing to drop their endorsements. Here’s why Democrats can’t attack Racicot: she’s one of them. She wants a Democrat to beat Susan Collins, and supports Platner’s agenda, but wanted to give voters the full picture. Her name was also mentioned in the NYT piece, but it was glossed over.
Racicot also gave a lengthy interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper last night - it’s a potentially election-killing story for Platner. Everyone knew about it too, even after the NYT piece. It was the anti-ambush, and many fools fell for it just for politics. Now, they’re all running away, but we have their numbers. And you should go after these idiots without mercy. Remember, you must be a liberal woman for rape allegations to count.
Just remember ladies, you have to be a Democrat for the assault to count! https://t.co/YeVWInow5m

Not sure if the "we knew he was bad but we didn't say it until it was really bad even though everyone outside of our echo chamber knew he was bad" defense plays very well. https://t.co/ABmO8CdElk

My favorite part of this tweet is @ryangrim adopting a new just-a-reporter tone as if he wasn't relentlessly bullying everyone he didn't jump to the front of the Platner train just a mere weeks ago. https://t.co/gpsjElHkqN

The allegations against Graham Platner are disturbing and sickening. Moral character still matters. He should drop out of the race immediately.

Enough is enough. graham platner needs to step aside.

Dem voters in Maine knew Platner had a Nazi tattoo & lied about it. They knew about the repugnant online posts. They knew about the NYT story & allegations from women. They knew there were loud whispers about more to come. They overwhelmingly nominated him anyway. pic.twitter.com/a7SFkEzBZa
