It’s disturbing, isn’t it? It’s undoubtedly historically illiterate, which is common among liberals who continue to show that they have zero grasp of the subject. Not that I care about the inner debates within the Democratic Party, especially on this one, but there’s a Twilight Zone aura to this, and it can’t be dismissed easily. Maybe some of you can, but it’s too glaring and overt to wipe away, at least for me. Joe Biden got forced out of the presidency and 2024 race, and the comparisons the left is making regarding this moment are ridiculous and offensive.

They’re all snorting, mainlining, or smoking the same drug here, which is Joe Biden is George Washington. He selflessly stepped aside when he knew the country was in danger. In other words, everyone and their mother knew Biden was heading for “Jimmy Carter 1980” territory and put the screws to him to avoid an Electoral College wipeout. We were heading in that direction—Biden was collapsing in Virginia. The June debate ended up being the death knell for the Biden presidency.

The party bosses had to make the switch quickly before their national convention in Chicago, so they allowed a short grace period. Then, there was the Trump assassination attempt on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania, which injected steroids into the momentum at the back of the former president. Biden, already facing questions about health and competency, caught COVID, which derailed his Nevada trip. It was at this point that everyone stormed the White House politically. Nancy Pelosi allegedly threatened to trash Biden publicly, presenting damning polling data showing he couldn’t win. Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said in no uncertain terms that he would permit his caucus to go public with their concerns—The New York Times reported that only three senators reportedly wanted Biden to remain the nominee after the June debate. Biden quit on July 21.

With the election entering the final weeks, actor George Clooney is the latest to harp on the “Biden = Washington” narrative, despite his New York Times op-ed delivering a death blow to the president’s fundraising operation with the Hollywood elite. Clooney wanted Biden to quit, calling him essentially too weak and frail to run again. Now, this guy and other liberals turn around to sing his praises for being a selfless president. Please—this is a fairytale you tell someone when you know their mental capabilities can no longer detect when they’re being the victims of gaslighting.

Everyone who was part of this “coup” is patting themselves on the back privately while giving the president his flowers publicly—and they assume we don’t know the difference. Not that this is lost on you Townhall readers, but you know this was about power. Biden didn’t want to leave—he damn near said only God Almighty could force him off the ticket. He also didn’t believe the polls. It was only after his political operation, which was appallingly inept, got dog-walked that he quit. That and learning that he had zero support pretty much everywhere. As president, you’re supposed to win these fights given the institutional advantages. The fact that Biden’s team got rolled so quickly and easily shows the weakness inherent in this White House. I wonder how our enemies and allies abroad toyed with this administration. You’re seeing it in real time in Gaza and Ukraine.

George Washington left willingly, so he’s called the American Cincinnatus. Drooling and invalid, Biden had to be forced out after his best friends said they would roll him off the political cliff. It’s vastly different. And Biden is no George Washington, and he never will be, so can we end this nonsensical narrative? It’s insulting to our past leaders, who accomplished real things in office, unlike Biden.
