There is good and there is evil. Good is the healthy state, functioning optimally according to its design. Evil can be defined as a conscious state of disorder, a parasite that thrives on conquering the good.

Humans are creatures of a magnificent design. They start out innocent enough, generally attracted to good. But all people seem to be subject to the attentions of evil, sometimes as a victim and sometimes as a participant.

The vast majority of humans are kind and interesting, regardless of their culture, religion, race, or party affiliation. And right about the age of six, they are introduced to the social order of the sandbox; acceptance, rejection, peer pressure, bullies, and champions. Playground diplomacy eventually transitions into the serious game of sociopolitical gamesmanship.

Most registered Democratic voters are not aware of their party’s Marxist agenda. They regrettably just see government as the apartment super who should fix everything so they work the way things ought to work. But beyond rank-and-file Democrats (as well as Republican statist quislings) is a graduated scale of advancement; loyal party activists, unsympathetic bureaucrats, Machiavellian party leadership, and elitist elected official. The surreptitious goals of the party are evil. So at some level of leadership, Marxists assume the mantle of evil, even while maintaining a gentleman’s demeanor.

When the innocent are unprotected, evil will assault without mercy. Over 80,000 cases of child sexual abuse are reported every year in the United States. Drug cartels keep the nation of Mexico in a state of fear, imposing their own taxes and murdering tens of thousands, including several outspoken elected officials. And disturbing videos are readily viewable on the Internet that show Islamists in the Middle East beheading men and stoning women to death.

Evil is not a worm, content to exist in dank isolation. Evil is a snake that plots to impose its will on the innocent and the good. But when the good is strong, evil keeps its distance and observes with deliberation.

Korea was divided into two sovereign nations at the end of World War II. North Korea eventually become a dictatorship under the boot of the Kim Family and South Korea established a constitutional republic for themselves. South Korea now enjoys a per capita income that is eighteen times that of North Korea and the citizens live an average of ten years longer than their northern cousins. The resident presence of a powerful and good United States military keeps the jealous evil of North Korea from invading South Korea.

It took nearly 200 years, but evil has found a way to use our greatest strength as a weapon against us. America’s Founding Fathers architected a set of principles that every patriot swears by. Evil has perfected a verbal sleight of hand that assigns new meanings to old mottos. What we are experiencing in 21st Century America is not the stabbing pain of a poisonous strike. This is more of a constriction that slowly made its way up to our neck.

It seems to have begun in 1947 when the ACLU successfully contorted Thomas Jefferson’s words “a wall of separation between church and state” into a reversal of the First Amendment. Liberals marvel at how patriots freeze in their tracks over outrageous court rulings out of ultimate respect for the law and the system. Evil has discovered that conservatives will uphold principle even when Marxists blatantly defraud. And so, they defraud.

Illegal immigration is encouraged by Democrats in order to increase their ranks of loyal and dependent subjects. Evil knows the hearts of conservatives, so Democrats focus on recruiting children from South America to trouble their souls and soften their objections.

Patriots accept laws that encourage voter fraud because duly elected Democratic state legislators passed them and Democratic governors signed them. So history is changed by way of institutionalized cheating at every election cycle.

In 2008, Republican Senator Norm Coleman won re-election in Minnesota by a slim margin of just 725 votes over Democratic challenger Al Franken. Democrats used the court system to buy six months to defraud the system with recounts that added thousands of illegal votes. Al Franken was ultimately declared the victor, giving Democrats the 60-member majority that they needed to pass Obamacare in the Senate.

The promise, “If you like your health care plan, you can keep it” was never true at any of the dozen times it was declared. President Obama may have been allowed to believe that theory long enough to sell Obamacare to the American public. But after reality emerged, the President made everything better with a single apologetic interview with Chuck Todd. “I regret very much that what we intended to do … that we weren’t as clear as we needed to be in terms of the changes that were taking place.” All better.

In the next breath after his apology, President Obama offered a new promise to America that also turned out to be untrue, “Keep in mind that most of the folks who got these cancellation letters – they’ll be able to get better care at the same cost or cheaper in these new market places because they’ll have more choice. They’ll have more competition. They’re part of a bigger pool. Insurance companies are going to be hungry for their business. So, the majority of folks will end up being better off.”

Colorado Democratic Senator Mark Udall voted for Obamacare, compromising the health of millions of Americans against their wishes. Then, immediately after the Supreme Court ruled that Hobby Lobby could not be forced to pay for abortive forms of contraception, Udall sponsored a bill that aims to reverse that decision. Udall voted to deny tens of thousands of Americans the right to work on the Keystone Pipeline. He has earned an “F Rating” from the NRA for consistently voting to restrict citizens’ rights to protect themselves with firearms.

Mark Udall is a classic example of the methodology by which life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness are being choked out of the American people. I briefly worked with Senator Udall in 2005 and even had lunch with him. He is very likeable and he looks like Central Casting’s idea of a Senator from Colorado. This loyal Marxist is up for re-election this year and he is running a campaign ad that could not sound more Republican, “…Each of us has the freedom to make our own choices, to live life on our own terms. You have the right to be an individual. I’m Mark Udall. No one – not government, not Washington – no one should ever have the power to take those rights and freedoms away.” It is a beautiful ad; a perfectly delivered lie.

While we are strong, no one will attack us with the sword. But as In The Beginning, Evil is simply talking us out of our inheritance, and instead make us work for food and food only.
