Does anyone find it curious that the Harris/Biden administration—you know, the one seeking four more years amidst a devastated economy, a wide open border and raging worldwide conflict—has willfully turned its back on hurricane-devastated American citizens during what our media and all of the so-called reliable polls say is a very tight presidential race?  Under such conditions, if the polls are to be trusted, and just one month from election day (and don’t forget how many people are voting early) why would presidential hopeful and current Vice President Kamala Harris & running mate Tim Walz be so blasé about the suffering of their electorate?

It seems the perfect opportunity for them to arrive suited up for a photo op featuring the pair knee deep in mud-soaked living rooms shoveling muck out of Helene victims’ houses, handing pallets of infant formula to the mothers of starving babies and suitcases full of money to every devastated household. Don’t they want/need every vote they can get in some of the tightest of tight states to assure their path to victory?  Something smells off.

Instead, we have Harris vowing a whopping $750 to those who “truly need it.” Wow, thank you Madam Vice President. That should at least get everyone an Uber ride to Walmart and about half a cart of off-brand groceries. Maybe they can even spring for one of those small tailgate tents to shelter themselves for the coming winter.

Oh but wait, the aid we all imagined our government would provide given our high trust and our higher taxes that this land is still about “We the People…” is actually on its way to—wait for it—LEBANON! That’s right, the woman who is promising joy and claiming we need to all move forward has positioned herself as Empathizer In Chief, just not toward her fellow Americans. Harris has committed $157 million to aid the people of Lebanon who, according to her post on X, are “facing an increasingly dire humanitarian situation.” She went on to share her concern for their security and well-being and promised to continue working to help meet their needs for such things as “food, shelter, water, protection and sanitation.”  With this pledge, we are nearing $400 million in aid to that country alone for this calendar year. I don’t have to tell you this is mere pennies compared to what we have gifted Ukraine this year.

While America has always been known to generously aid people across the globe in a variety of disasters, wars and crises, we have also always counted on our government to care for its own. And yet, here we are, leaving the victims of Hurricane Helene high and far from dry. Even worse, there are multiple reports of FEMA workers denying access to regular folks who want to provide aid to their neighbors. Does this sound like a winning election strategy to you?

Despite the declination of aid from Washington D.C., several entities and countless individuals have arrived on the scene to lend a helping hand. The indomitable spirit of America shines through once again. Unnamed heroes are building makeshift bridges, clearing out debris, hauling off downed trees and recovering those lost to the flooding. Donald Trump, the ever-present leader, arrived on the scene bringing Elon Musk to provide his high-speed internet service, Starlink, to restore communications. Reverend Franklin Graham and his disaster relief ministry, Samaritan’s Purse, are running helicopter drops to devastated areas bringing much needed supplies, water and food. The Salvation Army is doing the same. And even a Texas-based Christian conservative driven cellular phone provider, Patriot Mobile, is deploying a team to drive generators and relief supplies to Georgia’s worst hit areas.

But from the highest hill in Washington, D.C., Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas told the media last week that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) did not have “enough funding to make it through hurricane season.” And yet, in late September Congress added $20 billion to the FEMA coffers. Where has that money gone? And why aren’t the people who that money is set aside for benefitting in their darkest hour? Alejandro has some ‘splaining to do.

Our fellow Americans suffering from the devastation of catastrophic floods, now face the flood of disappointment and the flood of suspicion given the bizarre response from their government.

Rahm Emanuel, former Democrat mayor of Chicago, famously said “never let a good crisis go to waste.” And yet, here we are, in front row seats to the worst case of letting a good crisis go to waste in American history.  Lest we find ourselves, once again, gearing up for a red wave (remember 2022?) only to awaken dazed and confused the morning after, how about we stop staring at all the shiny objects and wake up to what might be the only explanation for this otherwise inexplicable middle finger to America.

Could it possibly be that the fix is in so clearly and overwhelmingly, that the Left is collectively resting on their laurels…because if you’ve already secured the outcome, what does the process really matter?  If there is another explanation for this blatant dereliction of duty and worse, the very lack of concern for the people they were elected to serve, I’m listening!
