In just one week, former Vice President Joe Biden has gone from a three-time losing presidential candidate to possibly locking down the 2020 Democratic nomination.

After securing an endorsement from Congressman James Clyburn in South Carolina, the message that the “moderate” Democratic establishment must get behind Biden immediately to stop communist Bernie Sanders became increasingly urgent. Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar and former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg bailed out of the race and quickly backed the former vice president. After all, this was an emergency. Biden went on to victory on Super Tuesday, ending the night ahead of Sanders in the crucial delegate count.

But make no mistake, if Biden indeed wins the Democratic nomination for president, he won’t be the man capable of bringing the platform back to the center-left from the far left flank of his party. This is especially true if he plans to win over leftists currently supporting Sanders. There will be a policy price for their votes, which will come in the form of promises for increased government control of American lives across the country.

And is Biden really starting from a “moderate” place? Watching him on the campaign trail, the answer is no.

First, Biden promises to repeal the Trump tax cuts, which enabled the vast majority of Americans to keep a larger percentage of their hard-earned paychecks.

“First thing I would do as president is eliminate the president’s tax cut,” Biden said during an event in Washington, D.C., last summer.

Since the tax cuts were passed in 2017, the Left has successfully pushed the false narrative that only the rich got a break. This isn’t true and has been proven false by a number of tax organizations. The middle class benefited the most.

“The Tax Policy Center estimates that 65 percent of people paid less under the law and that just 6 percent paid more. (The rest saw little change to their taxes.),” The New York Times reported late last year. “Other analyses reached similar conclusions. The Joint Committee on Taxation — Congress’s nonpartisan team of tax analysts — found that every income group would see a tax cut on average. So did the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy, a left-leaning think tank that was sharply critical of the law. In fact, that group went even further: In a December 2017 analysis, it found that every income group in every state would pay less on average under the law in 2019.”

On the Second Amendment, Biden has become a radical who wants to destroy the $51 billion dollar industry while trampling on the Bill of Rights along the way.

During a rally in Texas before Super Tuesday, Biden declared former Congressman Beto O’Rourke will be in charge of gun control policy.

“I want to make something clear. I’m gonna guarantee you; this is not the last you’re seeing of this guy. You’re gonna take care of the gun problem with me; you’re gonna be the one who leads this effort. I’m counting on you, I’m counting on you, we need you badly,” Biden declared.

O’Rourke’s version of gun control is unconstitutional confiscation, which he proudly declared when he was still a candidate for president last fall.

“Hell, yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47,” O’Rourke yelled during a primary debate.

And finally, while Biden has campaigned on reforming Obamacare, his party strongly supports a fully government-run system. All of the voter analysis of Democratic voters, including those who voted for Biden instead of Sanders, shows this.

When Obamacare was introduced back in 2010, conservatives warned the massive government program was simply the first step on the way to a complete takeover of the private healthcare system. Obamacare destroyed rural hospitals, made health insurance more expensive, stripped millions of their previous insurance plans, increased wait times for care, caused doctor shortages and much more. The consequences have been enormous. In other words, Obamacare has severely damaged private healthcare in America. The goal was to collapse the current system so the argument for an alternative of a solely government-run program would be easier to make. That’s exactly where we are now with the far Left demanding the elimination of private insurance provided to more than 100 million Americans through their employers.

Biden’s policies are already on the left, not in the moderate middle. The far-left wing of the party, which pushed House Speaker Nancy into a disastrous impeachment of President Trump starting last year, will take full advantage of his vulnerabilities. Biden won’t be turning the Democratic Party back to the center. Like Pelosi, he’ll get eaten alive by the likes of AOC and Sanders’ supporters.
