Dear Friend,

I wanted to get this letter out to you before election day, expecting you to weigh many of the factors that should be considered before casting your ballot.

As you go, thus goes the nation, as far as I am concerned. Over the last few months, my efforts to understand your position have been warranted so that I can persuade you that Kamala Harris is a far greater threat than Trump could ever be.

You know Kamala would be a disaster. You have said so. You hope she is so bad that the result in 4 years would be another Reagan after Jimmy Carter.

Our nation is headed down so fast that I’m not sure we won’t hit the trees before the four years of a Harris/Walz administration are over. So, a Reagan-type successor would only oversee an emergency response to a wreckage site.

We have imploded fast these last four years, and I don’t think my fear is without cause.

You believe that Trump is too dangerous because of his January 6th antics and his attempts to call the 2020 election stolen.  You believe Trump will make the wrong calls when a life-or-death decision needs to be made that may threaten the very existence of our Republic.

As bad as you think Democrat policies are, you somehow think Trump is more dangerous.

Well, let's look at the evidence of what happened.  The best way to predict future actions is to look at the past.  Without going into all the details, Trump should have known the constitutional limitations of his vice president, Mike Pence, who did not certify the election results. However, there was no revolution, and the transition of power happened on time and peacefully. There was no violent, severe attempt by anyone to overthrow the election.  If there was, they used very little coercion compared to any successful coup attempt I know of in history.  There was never any serious threat to our government, period.

Otherwise, Trump did an excellent job at governing overall, and his policies, as you’ve agreed, were very effective domestically and internationally.  We know his policies, and we understand how he governed.  We also know he has learned a lot and can expect results to be even better this time. I won’t take time to review his successes as president, but there were many, including no new wars, much progress within the Middle East, and prosperity at home.

Trump is a known entity.  The threats you think he represents, I believe, are unwarranted as we already know his history, and there will be plenty of opposition to watch his every move.

On the other hand, we have Kamala, who we know represents a clear danger to our nation.

It’s all about measuring what you think could be a Trump threat to what we know will be a Harris disaster.

Personally, I’ll take my chances with Trump.

I think the risk he poses is close to zero as far as doing anything outside the Constitutional limits of executive power. And if he does do something stupid or unconstitutional, there are enough of us who revere said document who will never tolerate such abuses and will hold him accountable.

But we know what dangers Harris WILL bring.

If you vote for Kamala over Trump, your fear of Trump must outweigh all the following:

Foreign Policy disasters past, present, and future, including the incompetent withdrawal from Afghanistan and all the fallout this has created within that nation and throughout the world, enemy and ally alike.

An incomprehensible policy towards Israel in tying their hands against prosecuting a swift and just war against terrorists clearly dedicated to our ally’s destruction.

Allowing Iran to gain the financial foothold to encourage and sponsor these terrorists and attack Israel directly without severe consequences from the US.

A policy in Ukraine that discourages compromise with Russia with an aim that exceeds protecting Ukraine as a nation.

Climate change is the greatest existential threat to our nation and world, and all this will mean mandates, energy policy, energy prices, third-world growth opportunities (diminished), wealth building at home, and more.

Supporting men in women’s sport. Insane!

Celebrating the mutilation of our children by allowing transgender surgeries on our youth who are not old enough to vote or drink but can make decisions on surgeries that destroy their bodies for life.

Critical Race Theory is in, and MLK’s ideals of not judging people by their skin color but by their character's content is out.

Our primary identity should be measured by our race, sex, sexual preference, sexual identity, etc., not by our common bond as children of God or that we are all part of the human race.

DEI ideology and the annulment of a merit-based society where everyone is cheered to excellence and measured.

This effort focuses on equity of outcome over equality of opportunity and the socialist or communist ideology.

Demonizing one’s opponents as being “garbage,” “Hitler-like,” or “fascists” to divide and sow discontent to maintain power at any cost.

Rewarding the mainstream media for controlling the narrative and intentionally lying to and misleading the American people to herd us all in the direction they want to steer us.

It continued obvious gaslighting that all is well when clearly it is not. Too many examples to give.

Reductions in our free speech through government collusion with media and social media outlets to curb “false information.”

Abusing the justice system to prosecute and persecute one’s political enemies.

Open borders and allowing anyone to enter the country at any time and the tremendous threat this poses to the very existence of our nation.

The fentanyl crisis besets our people, killing more men and women in a year than was killed in all our fighting in Vietnam.

Abortion is on demand anywhere in the nation, and the refusal to live by the states’ retained powers to govern on this weighty topic.

Executive overreach, such as unilaterally and unconstitutionally forgiving student debt, even when the Supreme Court decides it cannot be done.

Abuse of Federal power, as illustrated by the draconian measures to force individuals to receive the COVID-19 vaccine not only within the military or those employed by the government but also widespread mandates attempted to force corporations to impose this upon their employees.

Allowing government bureaucracies to impose national edicts without duly authorized legislation, to subvert contract law, and to decide winners and losers based on the stroke of a pen.

Today, we are facing the consequences of covering up the government's mismanagement during the COVID-19 debacle and continuing to ignore the steps taken during our response, which led to the financial crisis.

Treaties made with foreign governments with the advice and consent of the Senate.

Spending as much as we want, anytime we want, on anything that will help the incumbents stay in power. There are no consequences here to this modern monetary theory. Inflation is here to stay.

The military is the great DEI and CRT experiment where inclusion based on race and other divisive criteria is the goal and not the lethality of our forces.

America was never great because of our systemically racist founding and history, which can only be corrected by tearing down the institutions and culture that made us who we are, which is inherently bad.

Trump must be the greatest threat to our Republic that ever lived to overcome and outweigh all the above that is undoubtedly here with the Biden/Harris administration. And there will be more of the same and worse if Kamala is elected.

If, after careful reflection, you still cast your lot with the Democrats, then I will respectfully disagree and will still value your friendship and opinion.  The hope will become that we can weather the storm the next four years, and be sure to pray that your prophecy of a new Reagan comes to fruition.

Sincerely,

Jeff
