Do you remember that old bit on Sesame Street where they sang “One of these things is not like the other?” It was to teach kids simple recognition skills like shapes and colors.
This song has been going through my head recently, as Hamas’s jihad against Israel has populated my news feed – like no doubt your own – with stories that illustrate the galling insanity of the modern intersectional left. It might be “Queers for Palestine,” video of Jewish students being harassed on Ivy League campuses, or stories about Palestinian women who can only get abortions if they sneak into Israel.
Democrats’ weird Islamophilia is at odds with everything else the party stands for: abortion, female empowerment, LGBT issues, and – irrefutably – Jewish people. If Democrats were smart, they’d try to just ignore it, but instead the Biden Administration has chosen now to really clamp down on “Islamophobia.”
Following a month of the worst atrocities against Jewish people since the Holocaust, the White House is rolling out its first ever “national strategy to combat Islamophobia.” It’s actually surprising it took the Democrats so long to pull something like this, given how often the word “Islamophobia” has accompanied acts of terrorism in the past 22 years.
In the official statement, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said, “There is no place for hate in America against anyone. Period.” Alas Jean-Pierre – whose qualifications include that she’s a lesbian – didn’t get that memo in time to Muslim Democrat Omar Mateen keep him from shooting 100 gay people at Florida night club in 2016.
Apologists will be quick to point out that not every Muslim wants to murder 100 gay people … but the only person who did that was Muslim. And earlier this year the only Muslim-majority city in America (again, all Democrats) banned all gay pride materials on public property.

Part of the insanity inherent to the word “Islamophobia” is that it’s an adaptation of the word homophobia. Of course, we couldn’t use the word “Islamist” – as an adaption of racist – because an Islamist is someone who believes in Islam recapturing its “past assertiveness and glory” through violence.
Hard to demand you shouldn’t be worried about someone when he’s sharpening his scimitar right in front of you.
No other value system in the world had to invent a word to scare people out of admitting how much it scares them. The psychological warfare of the term “Islamophobic” has been so successful that our Orwellian spellcheckers will suggest you correct the word “Islamophilia” with it. Western Europeans will do anything to show how “Islamophobic” they aren’t – no matter how many little girls have to get raped to prove it.
Now the great irony here is the people most comfortable being “Islamophobic” are Muslims themselves
The conflict between Sunni and Shia began the day Muhammad died. The King of Jordan has refused all Palestinian refugees’ admittance into his country. The United Arab Emirates – where I attended graduate school – long ago designated the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Muslim American Society as terrorist groups.
Indeed, if the Iran managed to destroy the Burj Khalifa, as they have threatened, the UAE would turn Tehran into ash overnight and accept exactly zero refugees the next day. The UAE was one of the four countries Trump drew into his Nobel Peace Prize-deserving Abraham Accords, using Arabs’ (perfectly reasonable) fear of Iran as leverage.
Remember when Trump was president and we had Middle East peace deals instead of mass violence? Those were good days.
See, but after years of calling Trump Hitler, pro-Hamas Democrats will have to come to terms with how Hitler teamed up with the Palestinian mufti. They could hand-wave away that 100-year-old picture, but not video of Palestinians waving swastikas around today.
Almost half of Democrats support Hamas, according to a Gallup Poll, while only 11 percent of Republicans do. Remains to be seen if headlines like these will serve as a wake-up call to secular Jewish Americans who have been lockstep Democrats for years. Note that Orthodox Jews have long since figured things out: 90 percent of them voted for Trump.
Are Jews, gays, and feminists going to finally realize one of these things is not like the other? Could they please figure it out before November 2024?
