Never in the history of our nation have we experienced such a frighteningly inept and incompetent presidential administration. One could make a good argument that this would apply in all areas, but it’s particularly applicable in the area of foreign policy and national security.
Right after Bowe Bergdahl’s release in the trade for five senior Taliban commanders, National Security Advisor Susan Rice described the Army deserter as serving with “distinction and honor”. The very same soldier now charged with ‘desertion and misbehavior’ by the military’s Uniform Code of Military Justice. Charges that can send Bergdahl to a military prison for the rest of his life.
Since taking office the Obama Administration has exhibited the judgment and intelligence of a trio of stooges known as Moe, Larry and Curly when it comes to the military and national security issues. In fact, one might credit the real Three Stooges with a bit more brain cells than the senior members of this administration have displayed over the past six years.
With our international relations in a shambles and our allies pulling their hair out by the roots over the lack of American leadership, the Obama Administration seems oblivious to it all. Merrily going about their pursuit of social justice issues here at home while the world around us crumbles and falls into disarray.
Any fan of the Three Stooges remembers the episode where Curly keeps putting plumbing pipes together in the bathroom of a house, and through his own stupidity surrounds and traps himself inside a self-made cage of steel pipes. A comparison could be made to the trap of lies built by the Obama Administration around the Bowe Bergdahl case and Benghazi.
While holding a ‘welcome home’ photo-op on the back porch of the White House with Bergdahl’s parents, all full of himself the president talked about the U.S. “not leaving anyone behind”. A lesson he must have forgotten after leaving four Americans behind in Libya.
Of course according to Susan Rice they died as a result of a YouTube video, and not because Barack Obama was too busy preparing for a political fund-raiser to send them any help.
Actually, comparing this administration to the Three Stooges does a disservice to those three comedic actors since their antics were intended to invoke laughter, and not to promote government policies.
The Obama Administration wants to be taken seriously yet continues to send forth Susan Rice to appear on Sunday talk shows where she continues to build and get caught up in her own cage of lies, just like she did over Benghazi.
After the Charlie Hebdo terrorist attacks in Paris the Obama Administration’s response was to send James Taylor over to sing “You’ve got a friend” to the Parisians. Considering the administration’s woeful record perhaps the theme song from the Three Stooges would have been more appropriate, “Three Blind Mice”.
While Bowe Bergdahl is entitled to a fair trial under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, in every trial this administration has faced they have come up short. At least the Three Stooges brought laughter and merriment into our lives. The Obama Administration with their incompetence only brings us to tears.
