Democrats Quitting X Will Be Missed…by Someone…Probably

When asked what is the “best in life,” Conan the Barbarian famously responded, “To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.” This is true in politics, except for the screeching voices of Democratic women and men pretending to be so, as their voices are like nails on a chalkboard. We don’t need to hear from any of them, no matter what gender they think they are, we’re just happy they’re going away.

And going away they are, at least some of them.

The thing about liberals, most of them anyway, is they can’t simply go away and lick their wounds, they have to make a big production out of it – what’s the point in doing something if you can’t get attention for yourself while doing it?

Like that drunk guy asked to leave a restaurant for being too loud and rowdy who can’t simply leave with dignity, liberals must knock over seats and drinks on nearly every table as the manager escorts them to the door.

Don Lemon could have simply stopped using Twitter at any point. People who did likely would’ve thought he was on vacation, others would’ve simply forgotten they followed him. That’s the nature of pop culture: if you’re remembered constantly, you are quickly forgotten.

Lemon is not special as a person. What made him “special” was that he was famous, and he was famous for being on TV. More people followed him on Twitter, or X, because he was on TV than actually watched him on TV. He has 1.5 million followers and would rarely reach 1 million viewers.

Hilariously, Lemon managed to get fired the first day on his “new job” when he was going to host a show on X. He interviewed Elon Musk, who promptly fired him for incompetence and diva-like demands. Being a good liberal, which is code for professional victim, Lemon sued – a reminder to never hire anyone it would be a lawsuit to fire.

In leaving X, Lemon needed the world to know why, which means he wanted attention from the left-wing corporate media, where he would desperately love to get another job in. Hell, CNN rehired the human Weeble Brian Stelter, so they clearly forgive failure and look past intelligence and appearance, why not give it a shot?

Donny told his followers, “I've loved connecting with all of you on X, but it's time for me to leave the platform. I once believed it was a place for honest debate and discussion, transparency, and free speech, but I now feel it does not serve that purpose.”

But the real reason was a little deeper. He continued that another factor was the new Terms of Service, which required any legal action against the company be brought in northern Texas. “As the Washington Post recently reported on X's decision to change the terms, this ‘ensures that such lawsuits will be heard in courthouses that are a hub for conservatives, which experts say could make it easier for X to shield itself from litigation and punish critics.’ I think that speaks for itself,” Lemon concluded.

Not quite the principled stance it was sold as, is it? He’s suing – and once you sue, you’re very likely to sue again and again – and he doesn’t like having the company choose the venue, one that just so happens to be near where the company is headquartered now.

Lemon isn’t alone, though he might be in rationale. The Guardian paper out of London has quit as well, and they issued a tweet with a link to their post as to why. “We think that the benefits of being on X are now outweighed by the negatives and that resources could be better used promoting our journalism elsewhere,” the paper wrote. “This is something we have been considering for a while given the often disturbing content promoted or found on the platform, including far-right conspiracy theories and racism. The US presidential election campaign served only to underline what we have considered for a long time: that X is a toxic media platform and that its owner, Elon Musk, has been able to use its influence to shape political discourse.”

The liberal rag will continue to allow employees to use it to promote their propaganda, to spread their opinions, but the paper’s main account is being shut down. They just wanted people to know, so they posed it to X

Again, why not just leave?

Because what if no one cared? Worse, what if no one noticed? If there’s one thing these leftists hate more than conservatives existing it is conservatives winning…anything. They need to throw a fit because they need to peacock for their friends, for their fellow cocktail party attendees whose only interaction with the great unwashed masses of “flyover” country when they empty their plane’s chemical toilet on it. They need to do metaphorically what they love to do literally.

But no one does care. The only people making decisions in their life based on anything Don Lemon or the Guardian does are Don Lemon or work for the Guardian, and it only applies to some of them. They got attention today. Others will copy their ploy – it has happened before. When Musk first bought it to make it a bastion of free speech, a bunch of liberals called it a day then. They raised a big stink about it, then snuck back and ignored their previous “principled” stance.

Will the latest crop do the same? Honestly, who cares? They will be missed…by someone…probably, but not me. Unlike the left, the existence of opposing viewpoints doesn’t bother or threaten me because I’m not an idiot drone who can’t handle disagreements or debate. After an election that Democrats lost in no small part because of the insulated, echo chamber world they live in, that they want to insulate that echo chamber even further is welcome news. When your opponent lost because of crazy, and their response is to double down on crazy, let them.
