Some people would write a whole column about such and such a thing before, in various columns, about this or that conspiracy theory for the pure love of tooting their own horn because if they don’t, who’ll toot it for them? I’m not that guy. But I will say this, when I wrote yesterday or how Democrats were going to scream and scramble desperately to raise money off the upcoming Supreme Court vacancy, even though it’s a foregone conclusion Biden’s nominee will be confirmed, I didn’t expect to be proven right in a day.

Yesterday I got 4 emails on this very subject from left-wing groups appealing to dumb liberals for money to ensure the political equivalent of the sun rising in the east. As I explained in yesterday’s column, the rules in the Senate mean it is virtually impossible to stop a Supreme Court nominee without something horrible in their past. That’s why Democrats tried to manufacture an attempted rape case in Brett Kavanaugh’s past.

Other than a string of murders or robberies (and it would depend on who was murdered or robbed, sadly) Democrats will vote for any nominee Biden puts up there, unless they once said something nice about Ronald Reagan, but what are the odds of that?

There is no nomination fight to speak of. If Democrats hold together, whatever black woman Biden pulls from a hat will be confirmed. But that reality, and being honest about it, does not empower leftist groups to raise money from suckers, so they’re just lying to do it now.

The ironically named Democratic Strategy Institute’s fundraising appeal opens, “BREAKING: With a 50-50 Senate, Joe Manchin Could be Deciding Confirmation Vote on Joe Biden’s Supreme Court Nominee. Demand Joe Manchin to do the right thing and vote YES to confirm Joe Biden’s Supreme Court nominee.” They aren’t even waiting for a name to declare sainthood and demand confirmation because they, like every other progressive, know that whoever it is, no matter what they look like, they will think the same way as everyone else. To Democrats, “diversity” means different colors, like-minded drones.

“Please Derek,” they conclude, “if we fail to collect enough signatures, Trump’s appointees will continue to wreak havoc on our country. Add your signature before it’s too late.” Democrat donors must be dumb enough to believe that replacing a liberal with a liberal will change the direction of the court. No one ever accused these people of being smart.

Another email from a group called “314 Action” opens, “Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer is retiring, giving Joe Biden the first opportunity of his Presidency to nominate a new justice to the Supreme Court.  Thanks to GOP efforts to pack the Court with far-right conservatives, the reputation of the Supreme Court is in serious jeopardy.” That “court-packing effort” involves filling vacancies as they opened, meanwhile these lunatics are openly advocating for adding justices so they can get their way.

Another email from DSI might be the dumbest. It opens, and I cannot stress this enough, like a note passed between illiterate teenage girls fawning over some member of a boyband. “Justice Stephen Breyer just announced he’s RETIRING from the Supreme Court.  But Republicans are RACING to block Breyer’s replacement – just like they did to Merrick Garland!!  Unless you want the GOP to RAILROAD President Biden’s nominee, it’s critical you begin our EMERGENCY Supreme Court survey IMMEDIATELY!”

You have to be wildly ignorant of recent history to not know wrong this is. Garland was nominated when Republicans controlled the Senate, Democrats control it now. The only people who can block a nominee is Democrats, period.

It’s a sad commentary on the intelligence, or lack thereof, of the average Democrat that anyone would even try something as dumb as these fundraising emails. It’s a sadder commentary that they must work because they do them all the damn time. It’s like an experiment to see which will come first, the bankruptcy of the organization or the morons they’re trying to find the dumbest, least successful fundraising appeal for. I honestly don’t know if there is a bottom of the stupid pit Democrats fell down because every time I think they’ve hit it, one of these left-wing groups breaks out a shovel and they go deeper.
