Imagine having the time on your hands to march for or against whatever the latest cause for outrage is. Leftists seem to have nothing better to do than take to the streets, almost on a daily basis, over anything and everything. Personally, I’ve never felt that urge. Over anything.

I’ve attended a few protests in my life, all as an observer. I’ve never chanted “hey, hey, ho, ho” insert the cause of the day “has got to go” or anything else in a crowd, with the possible exception of an expletive or two at a bad call a referee made at a Red Wings game.

Maybe I’m just not a joiner, but I know very few people who’ve marched or protested something. It helps that I grew up long after the Civil Rights Movement, really the last worthwhile and honest cause.

Nowadays, the drop of a hat will get a left-wing mob marching, chanting, rioting, and worse. Who can care that much about things that have no role in their lives and no place in reality?

Police are hunting down young black men, but suggest something so absurd and a couple of hundred leftists will show up, signs pre-printed, ready to scream at the top of their lungs throughout the night. Have they nothing better to do?

Occupy Wall Street moved into parks across the country because some people make more money than others, while other people who refuse to work don’t make any money at all. Not sure how that being how life works escaped those people, but they were genuinely angry over a simple fact of life.

They take to the streets to protest voter ID laws, a sea of white liberals insisting that the literal bare minimum a state can do to protect the integrity of the vote is somehow part of a racist plot to disenfranchise black voters. In their minds, black people are incapable of the basic duty of obtaining a photo ID – the white savior complex is progressive crack.

Curiously, on the issue of voter ID, if they’d expend a tenth of the energy they waste marching and chanting on finding the people they say they’re protesting on behalf of, they could solve the problem pretty quickly. They don’t, likely because they’d find a unicorn or Bigfoot before they’d find people who couldn’t obtain a photo ID.

So what are they really hoping to accomplish? Do they really think lawmakers are going to see a frenzied mob and change the law because of them? Some companies will, mostly because they’re spineless entities infested with “diversity officers” who are 'woke' college graduates otherwise unemployable outside of professorships, but government, at least Republican-led government, doesn’t cave to the woke.

Mostly these protests are fundraising cover for the leaders, multiple houses bought by BLM leaders didn’t pay for themselves. But they’re also part of a strategy to keep the miseducated and the dumb very angry.

It’s surprising how many Americans have no meaning in their lives and are desperate to find some elsewhere. If you don’t have family or real friends, you’ll seek connection in just about anything. Couple that with a lack of faith and you see lives where the closest thing to a meaningful connection to another human being is online whining on social media about made-up things. How much X-Box can one person play?

Without meaning in life, tangible meaning, people seek it elsewhere. That’s why you rarely see families or older people in these protests, mostly young, single, lonely people. Some families are there, generally the type of people who list their pronouns in their social media bios and college professors – AKA true believers – but otherwise detached weirdos who have nothing to get out of bed in the afternoon for except some nebulous cause or injustice they create in their heads.

Maybe I’m too cynical, but protests are generally a waste of time and energy. That might be because the people who generally take part in them are leftists who desperately seek validation for their lives externally and organized by grifters looking to make an easy, quick buck. Thank God conservatives have better things to do with their time.
