Vivek Ramaswamy is becoming known for being a conservative visionary and a formidable political debater. He famously educated former CNN host Don Lemon on how African-Americans were deprived of Second Amendment rights during the height of racial segregation. He also told Chuck Todd with fervent conviction that gender is immutable and resolute, not fluid and ever-changing as some contemporary minds argue. Vivek’s exchanges on major media channels are only one part of his appeal. He has also proposed unorthodox ideas to restore America’s alignment with its first principles. For instance, he has advocated for the complete shuttering of agencies like the FBI and the Department of Education, and other aspects of the administrative state. He is the only candidate to propose ending America’s involvement in yet another foreign boondoggle in Ukraine by compromising with Russia, a cardinal sin to the warmongering establishmentarians of our day.

Vivek is a dangerous man. He is dangerous to those who have a vested stake in maintaining the status quo. And yet, he is a shining example of everything Americans should look for in a leader.

In a world of Andrew Tates, clickbait conservatives, superficiality, lack of values, where more kids would rather sacrifice their ability to vote than give up Tiktok, it’s refreshing to see a leader with success and values.

Vivek’s successes so far in his life (he is only 37) are truly something for the next generation to run towards. At age 28, Vivek started and built biopharmaceutical tech company Roivant from company from scratch into a $7BN+ publicly traded company today. Under Vivek’s leadership, Roivant managed to get five drugs FDA approved, an extraordinary feat in an industry where many companies hardly get one of their products approved. Vivek consistently mentions how the family enables human flourishing, a claim complemented by his role as a father and husband. He is married to Apoorva and they both have two sons, which Vivek includes as much as possible in his travels on the campaign trail. He also founded Strive assessment management, a competitor to Blackrock, State Street, and Vanguard, all companies who use Americans’s money to push their political and social agendas.

These are just a sliver of Vivek’s contributions to American society. The child of first generation immigrants, Vivek has lived his version of the American dream in only a small fraction of his lifetime. As a 23 year old young adult who is just beginning my journey towards the American dream, Vivek’s success is a north star for me. My goal is to become a public intellectual through the medium of political commentary, particularly by creating content online (podcasting and video-creation). Vivek’s decision to launch his successful Youtube podcast while running for president helped me realize that there is an audience for rigorous, first-principles based political discourse. Similarly, Vivek’s middle-class background also speaks to me. I was born in a single parent household without the material resources of some of my college and high school friends. I had to grow up incredibly fast and work twice as hard for everything I own. I have held several jobs in my life: I waited tables, I bagged groceries, stocked produce at grocery stores, served as a host for restaurants, and so forth. Vivek’s ability to rise from a modest middle class lifestyle and achieve great social, financial, and familial success is invaluable for other young people in my position.

As the old saying goes, you become your surroundings. America needs to be surrounded by a strong leader, with impenetrable values, humble beginnings and tenacity to achieve great things. Vivek has done all of that and more at such a young age. America needs a leader in the White House who stands for foundational American principles like excellence, merit, free speech, and open debate. We need a leader who will challenge us as a people but in doing so push us towards the guiding light of the Constitution.

Only an outsider can deliver such an extraordinary project. Vivek Ramaswamy is the only outsider in the 2024 Republican Presidential primary. For these reasons and more, I encourage all Americans - especially other young people - to give Vivek a listen and seriously consider what he has to say. The future of our generation and the nation will be better off for it.
