Blue-Anon – CNN

  • Bringing back a classic, we see...

Things must not be going well behind the scenes, or internal polling is delivering some tough numbers for the Harris-Walz campaign. Otherwise, how do we explain Jim Acosta trotting out this well-worn nugget about the Russians looking to interfere with the election?

It’s the kind of announcement that raises many questions, such as why did they take off for the 2020 election, or, does Putin still want a Democrat victory this year?

Low-Octane Gaslighting – MSNBC

  • Seriously, Joe, are you even trying anymore...?

Look, we all know Joe Scarborough will say anything at all so long as it either supports Kamala Harris or is critical of Donald Trump. That being said, is it not at all possible for Scar-Joe to at least approach something factual in his entreaties?

Apparently not. For his latest effort, he takes a look at the candidate who has recently trotted out her rather Communist-flavored economic plan of price-controls, and he declares that if you are a true capitalist, Harris is who you should choose.

In other words, Joe made no effort.

Both Kinds of Standards – CNN

  • Hmmm, family opposing the actual candidate is not apparently newsworthy.

Consider the manner the press seems enamored of family who oppose a candidate. Mary Trump has been a darling for years. When Robert F. Kennedy Jr. endorsed Trump, his family was all over the news industry voicing their offensive reaction. Hell, just yesterday, Jake Tapper was entertaining Jim McCain who was turning Democrat because of Trump.

That being the case, one might expect that if not one but EIGHT immediate family members of Tim Walz came out to show their support for Trump that would be somewhat, slightly, moderately newsworthy. But then, it would make a Democrat look worse, so there will be no primetime interviews to be seen.

Presentation Paradox – NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO

  • The trend of journalists calling out for someone to commit journalism continues.

David Folkenflik has been especially focused on the tale of some sort of confrontation taking place between a member of the Donald Trump entourage and a worker at Arlington National Cemetery. There have been a number of media figures reporting on this as a defined factual occurrence, and also expressing dismay that details and names have not emerged. The demand by some in the press to have the press report on the facts has been mirthful.

Trump mentioned that video shot that day would show there had been no conflict, but the lack of them releasing any such video has meant that he remains guilty, until proven innocent. The reason there has been little in the form of energetic effort to get the facts is that if it is shown that this conflict did not happen, then journalists will not be able to continue charging Trump with bad behavior.

Legalized Press-titution – NEW REPUBLIC

  • This concept of candidates detailing their political agenda is really an outmoded tactic.

Imagine, if you can, being a member of the press and not only accepting that a presidential candidate might be taciturn about revealing their policies and plans for taking over the nation, but promoting this as a cagey campaign strategy.

If you can conjure such a mindset, you may be able to get a position at The New Republic. There we see the outlet is not only supporting her reluctance to be open with her plans, but it is said that displaying her platform would hurt her campaign, rather than give her support:

“The fledgling Harris-Walz campaign has been dogged by both the right and the progressive left to define the specific agenda items they will prioritize. But the Harris campaign would be wise to ignore it. Their best strategy to win the election isn’t to push out white papers and hyper-detailed plans for policies; it’s to continue to make the vibes- and values-based argument.”

Just…unreal.
