The current vice president is on the glide slope to becoming like his best buddy, Tucker Carlson.

While Harvard turned itself into an anti-Jewish hotbed of pro-terrorist protesting, there is actually something that Harvard and Judaism share. The official Harvard logo remains “Veritas,” or Truth. If you look at it, the word’s letters are spread over three books. In days of yore, the top two books were open while the lower one was closed. It was explained to me that the arrangement suggested that when one left Harvard, he had reached some end to the path of finding truth. The university determined that one spends his life in such a quest and turned the third book upwards, as seen in the link above.

In King David’s Psalms, there are multiple references to God being the Lord of Truth and the like. In the Talmud, truth is described as “God’s seal.” And if one believes in an omnipotent and all-present God, it would be hard for him to think that he can pull a fast one over the real Big Guy. “God, I didn’t take the money from the cash register,” while the heavenly CCTV cameras clearly show that he did. Truth is important enough for Harvard and any religious person that it should be front and center in his or her life.

One for whom truth really doesn’t matter would appear to be JD Vance. JD claimed that Donald Trump was the only U.S. president to stand up to Bibi Netanyahu (Israel). But this is not true. Virtually every president has told Israel what to do and when. At a recent confab, the Ohioan continued by saying that U.S. interests would not be subordinated to Israel. Well, JD, you have an incoming message: U.S. policy has NEVER been subservient to Israel, and your argument is a non sequitur. Some free facts for you:

- Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger reined in Israel during the 1973 Yom Kippur War. Israel could have rolled into Damascus and Cairo, but the Washington team wanted a very limited Israeli victory. Israeli forces were told where to stop.

- Reagan’s State Department condemned Israel’s attack on the Iraqi nuclear reactor. Without that attack, there would have been no successful Desert Storm.

- George H. W. Bush twisted Yitzhak Shamir’s arm by tying $1 billion in loan guarantees (and not actual loans) to Israel’s joining “peace talks” with Yasser Arafat and the PLO. The thousands of Israelis who died at the hands of Palestinian terrorists since then were not available for comment.

- The same Bush browbeat the same Shamir into not sending the Israeli Air Force to uproot Iraqi SCUD launchers. Israeli pilots were sleeping in their F-16s, and they were being hot-fueled on the runway in preparation to fly to Iraq. Bush told Shamir not to send the planes, and Shamir didn’t. Israel absorbed 39 SCUD hits as a result.

- Barack Obama withheld Hellfire missiles at a critical point in an Israeli war in Gaza. Israelis were shocked when needed munitions did not arrive. Joe Biden did the same thing, and even Donald Trump limited Bunker Busters as per his considerations.

- Donald Trump told Bibi Netanyahu not to attack Iran, to stop an attack on Iran, and not to attack in Lebanon. President Trump has even gone to Truth Social to state specifically that he clipped Bibi’s wings as per his assessment of American interests.

So while the U.S. is a great friend of Israel and a major benefactor of the country, Israel has never led the U.S. around by its nose. Israeli and American interests often overlap, say, in keeping the Houthis down. And for this specific reason, it would appear that Israel is providing CENTCOM intelligence to pass along to the Saudis. The Saudis hate Israel, but all parties do not want Houthis controlling Red Sea shipping.

So why does JD do his “we’ll never be subservient to those wily Israelis” shtick? Because he thinks that his buddy Tucker Carlson is on to something. He thinks that Carlson has some massive following based heavily on inventing lies about Israel committing genocide and intentionally killing “thousands” of Gazan children. The reality is that Tucker Carlson has voluntarily made himself into a kook, something that President Trump has noted several times on social media. He has followers from abroad, bots, and Democrats. He might even have the Trump-hating Adam Kinzinger/Liz Cheney wing of the party. But let’s look at results. Carlson’s buddy Tom Massie (R, Loser) is on his way out of Congress — but not before filing Articles of Impeachment against Pete Hegseth, who has been an amazing and energetic Secretary of War. Carlson supports the jihadist Democratic Senate candidate, El-Sayed. His beef with Mike Rogers is that Americans via AIPAC have contributed money to his candidacy. AIPAC money? Oh, Israel controls you! That is a lie.

So JD has tied his cart to a dead mule instead of a Tesla. It’s not just Jews he will lose should he run for president. Many Christians are not pleased with his association with Carlson, and his economic policies sound like he lived a couple of years with Bernie Sanders. There can never be a Trump II. Not Rubio. Not DeSantis. But one wants a competent chief executive, and like Obama, the more JD opens his mouth about Israel, the more antisemitic he comes across. He was really cooking when he stayed away from Israel and trashed the guy with the Mexican flag at the midterm convention. But he had to take a gratuitous jab at Israel, reinforcing the Carlson/Groyper lie that Israel is nefariously controlling Donald Trump and American policy. If that was really true, do you think that Israel would “let” Donald Trump be such a good friend of Islamist dictator Recep Erdogan of Turkey? Do you think that Israel would have allowed the U.S. to stop bombing Iran and try some JD-led negotiations that wasted time and brought nothing? Israeli and American interests can diverge, and the U.S. has often used its weight to make Israel say, “Yes sir, can I have another?” Israel has very little actual leverage in the U.S., though it has many sympathetic friends in Washington, including in the White House. JD invented another one of his patented strawmen. Like Obama. Pathetic.

The U.S. has been and remains a great friend of the state of Israel. Every Israeli fighter: American. Apparently, a $2.8 billion deal is coming for the delivery of thousands of 2,000-pound bombs to Israel. And while Israelis are truly appreciative and grateful, one has to realize that the relationship is two-way. The U.S. gets a lot of battle data and Israeli tech for its systems. Dozens of American aerial tankers have been in Israel for months now because it is a convenient place to have them based. Every tech company of importance has an R&D center in Israel. NVIDIA is rapidly growing its footprint in the country. Israel has been a steadfast ally, praised by Hegseth and Brad Cooper for its shoulder-to-shoulder fighting alongside American forces. Israel has 9/11 memorials (several), as an attack against America felt like an attack against Israel. There are supposedly 300,000 of us ex-pats in the country. So JD, you don’t have to don chassidic garb, speak in Hebrew, and say that growing up gefilte fish was your favorite food. But if you want Jews and Christian Zionists to support you enthusiastically, then talk about something other than Israel. I know that you don’t have the moral courage to clearly denounce your friend Carlson’s statements against your boss, American Jews, and Israelis. That’s an ask too much. But at least stop talking about Israel as some kind of Mafia don that routinely tells the U.S. what to do.
