The post-debate throw-Biden-overboard movement is somewhat disingenuous. The Democrats brought their problems completely upon themselves.

Let’s do some historical searching. It was primary season, 2020. Mayor Pete and Bernie Sanders dominated the early Democratic primaries. Sanders had momentum, he had his “Bernie Bros” and however extreme his positions, he spoke with conviction and force. Nobody ever accused Bernie Sanders of suffering from dementia, however extreme his positions are. The Democrats had a problem. Bernie Sanders might be their nominee. He might lose to Trump, but more importantly, he is now unpalatable to donors and the movers and shakers in the party hierarchy. Bernie frightened them more than Trump. So Representative Jim Clyburn of South Carolina and others magically got all of the middling candidates—Klobuchar, the fake Indian, Mayor Pete, etc.—to drop out and support Biden. Joe never looked back, winning the Palmetto State and everything to follow. Joe Biden becoming the nominee and later president was not a natural, electoral-driven process. It was a backroom deal to keep FrankenSanders from the party's leadership.

Biden then added one more layer of disaster by declaring that his vice president must be a black woman. Not competent. Not experienced. Not well-spoken. Just a black woman. And what black woman did he get? Kamala Harris is the only person who could make Joe Biden look like a Nobel laureate. So, the Democrats created a monster ticket. They won in November. There were shenanigans but nothing that rose to the level of being addressed by the various courts of law that looked into election fraud.

As the Democrats mull throwing Biden overboard and somehow performing kabuki theater to not give the nomination to Kamala without offending both blacks and women, they have to recall how they got to this point. If one could run parallel Biden and Sanders administrations, I doubt that there would be much difference between them, other than Sanders not wanting to support Israel much in its fight against Hamas. Open borders suit both. It is the same with trans mania, including putting up the trans flag, having people with mental issues traipsing on the White House grounds, and painting the pillars of the White House in the colors of the same flag. They both would wage war against fossil fuels. They would both weaken the military and make the US a pathetic sight in the view of enemies such as China, Iran, and Russia. The Democrats may have jerked things around to elect Biden, but they got Bernie’s program. Biden, being absent, has his underlings running around and doing what they want. The result is a DEI-driven administration that has a bald guy who steals and wears women’s dresses in charge of our nuclear waste. Their latest White House hire had to scrub his social media of all of his extremist statements. It reminds me of the final episode of Star Trek in which Captain Kirk’s ex switches bodies. They elected Biden and got Bernie's program.

Will and can the Democrats get rid of Biden? At the time of this writing, Biden is supposed to meet with his family at Camp David to discuss ice cream or his campaign. The infamous video of Jill acting like someone put drugs in her coffee was not made for no reason. My impression, thousands of miles from Washington, is that the Democratic honchos made this incredibly early June debate to see if Biden was fit for the run. Should he turn out incapacitated, the poobahs wanted enough time to switch him and Kamala out. Jill gushing over how Joe answered all of the questions was supposed to act as proof that the old man passed his test. She and about two or three others in the US think he did. When Thomas Friedman and others publicly tell Biden that he needs to go, you know that they have turned on their former Trump-slaying hero. Biden’s favor in the press and Washington has come to a crashing end.

The wise move, in retrospect, would have been to let the 2020 primaries play out. Bernie Sanders, while I disagree with every word that comes out of his mouth, sounds like a true believer in his socialist tripe. Maybe he would have defeated Trump, and even if he lost, 2024 would now be the first election of the new batch of young Democratic faces such as the governors of California and Michigan. The Democrats wanted to defeat Trump at all costs, and it took the nomination of a person who at the time already was not there to do it. Remember his early lids, his not leaving the basement, and rallies that required two cars to bring everyone there? Millions of mailed ballots, hundreds of millions from Zuckerberg in key states, social media censoring the laptop story, and the press running interference—all of these groups working together barely got Biden into the White House. Now his wife does not want to leave. Dr. Jill loves being the First Lady, flying off to G7 meetings. She will not go quietly into the night. She will keep Joe as the candidate as long as he has a pulse.

The Democrats today face the nightmare of pushing aside Biden against his inner circle’s will to keep him running. They have the task of getting rid of Kamala without her feeling it. And finally, they need to choose a candidate who in four months can put together a candidacy to beat Donald Trump. Their troubles started in South Carolina in 2020. May they end with a second Trump inauguration in Washington in January 2025.
