Colorado:

Someone should have told Mark Udall that the “war on women” isn’t the campaign issue it was in the last election. I know, I know… It’s hard to believe that the Left's final campaign message (claiming that Republicans will ban all birth control, thus causing a condom shortage… seriously) didn’t propel the hapless Coloradoan to certain victory over his allegedly chauvinist rival.

Republican Cory Gardner will be Colorado’s next US Senator. But, cheer up Dems! Udall’s female staffers will now be liberated to go look for a job that won’t pay them $10,000 less than their male counterparts. (That’s right… Mark “Uterus”, who championed himself as a new-age suffragette, underpaid the women on his staff.)

Kentucky:

I wonder if Alison Lundergan Grimes will admit to voting for herself…

The Democrat’s cartoonish understanding of the electorate cost them the opportunity to kick Republican Mitch McConnell out of office. Alison Lundergan-Grimes’ impressive portrayal of a gun-loving, EPA-hating, Coal-defending “Democrat” fell flat. Surely, her refusal to admit that she had voted for President Obama in 2008 and 2012 didn’t help her chances; but her disregard for the intelligence of her constituents seems to have been what really sealed her fate.

I mean, c’mon… We all know that there’s a reason she’s a Democrat. If we assume that she really is pro-gun, anti-EPA, and pro-coal, then what does that say about her liberal credentials? Was she just too in love with Obamacare to rip herself away from a gun-grabbing, EPA-empowering, anti-coal Democrat Party?

South Carolina:

Where is Al Sharpton? South Carolina has elected the first black Senator from the South since Reconstruction. Republican Tim Scott soared to victory in his first Senate race since being appointed to the seat in 2013.

I guess the Al Sharpton race-hustlers were too busy fanning the flames of Ferguson to give a round of applause for South Carolina’s historic achievement.

New Hampshire:

Republican Scott Brown failed to unseat incumbent Democrat Senator Jeanne Shaheen. I guess the state motto “Live Free or Die” is actually open to negotiation.

Louisiana:

The lucky folks in Louisiana will be able to enjoy their cut-throat political ads for another month. Democrat incumbent Mary Landrieu and Republican Bill Cassidy will be facing a runoff election, as neither one of them managed to accumulate more than 50 percent of the vote.

It was unclear if Mary was planning on buying another $2.5 million house (this time in Louisiana), or if she was just going to hang out in her parent’s basement for the next month.

One more thought:

By far, the most entertaining commentary on the Democrat Party’s implosion came from the group “Democracy for America”. They’re convinced that the toppled liberal giants in the Senate could have retained control had they only moved a little to the left of Karl Marx:

According to Charles Chamberlain, the group’s executive director, Democrats faced a rough night last night because "too many ran too little and too late on Elizabeth Warren-inspired populist progressive priorities.

I guess Democrats can subscribe to whatever fantasies they wish… At least this time, they aren’t the ones in charge. Now it’s time to see if Republicans can clean up Harry Reid’s Senate.
