The CDC's Eyebrow-raising Advice to People Sick With COVID on Election Day

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said it’s OK to vote on Election Day even if you are sick with COVID-19 and in quarantine.

“Voters have the right to vote, regardless of whether they are sick or in quarantine,” the CDC said Sunday in a post with guidelines about voting safely.

Those who are sick should take precautions to protect those around them, the agency said. “This includes wearing a mask, staying at least 6 feet away from others, and washing your hands or using hand sanitizer before and after voting,” the guidance said. “You should also let poll workers know that you are sick or in quarantine when you arrive at the polling location.”

Twitter users questioned the advice and mocked the agency.
