Reduced taxation, increases consumer spending, which increases TAX REVENUE.

Wake up this has been proven many, many times.

Sounds bad, doesn't it? But it's better than the Bush/GOP Congress days, when every budget increased spending, increased the debt, increased the deficit, but REDUCED taxes.

Eliminate the Departments of Education, Energy, HHS, the EPA, NEA, and stop all new Medicare entitlements for everyone 55 and below. Refund that group all of their Medicare payments. Problem solved.

Campbell was in the California Senate. He wasn't elected to the House until December 2005 and has been in the minority since January 2007.

The national debt is the net accumulated borrowing by the federal government.

The annual federal budget deficit, is the amount that our federal government borrows each year.

They are good to themselves at hard working tax payers expense! Just think of all the help the spendthrifts could have given to save the desperate poor, with the money spent on Date'Night, NY airplane photo opt, Copenhagen
and all the airplane traveling for Nancy and her family. Millions spent for unnecessary self-indulgences, with no end in sight and

Seems you've had plenty of time as a Republican in office to put forward a reasoned budget - too bad that only now are you 'vocal' on the issue of fiscal responsibility!

I've been a regular reader of this blog for a while and I've seen numerous posts by the good Congressman.

Most of them are on par with this: i.e. we've got to reduce our deficit and debt and cut spending.

Lots of good rhetoric, but no concrete or realistic ideas. Partly because I suspect, he knows that to balance the budget and start paying down the debt is going to require some very politically unpopular things and the party that actually gets in touch with reality first and tries to do the right thing is going to face a bloodbath and negative publicity/ads from special interest groups.

When Munck says things like:

"Are you sure you know how this stuff words(sic)?"

It means he doesn't know how stuff works.

Debt and deficit are not the same.

@Dread - Rep. Campbell is one of those MOC's who don't look at the job as "the best job - pay and perk-wise I'll ever have". He was successful in business before public office and knows how to meet a payroll - something missing from most MOC's. Why don't you let him outline his ideas and you can engage in a dialogue here. Quaint thought, that.

@Munck - When the Dems trot out PAYGO they do so with the nearly-ubiquitous tax increase "on the (undefined) rich". To think there isn't waste, fraud and abuse in a #3.5T budget strains credulity. Campbell cares because he knows taxing the "rich" doesn't automatically make life better for the (undefined) "poor".
