Uninsured Americans are Not Visiting Healthcare.gov

Uninsured Americans are Not Visiting Healthcare.gov

After all of the reports of failed attempts at signing up for Obamacare, it shouldn’t really be a shock to find that most Americans who plan to get insurance through the new system haven’t even been to an exchange website.

According to a Gallup poll out Friday, only 22% of those who are uninsured and said they planned on using the exchanges actually have already. This is no doubt due to the fact that the website is barely even functioning.

Even HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius admitted that the numbers for October enrollment will be “very low.” Yet somehow, the administration believes it can have 7 million people enrolled in the exchanges by the end of March.

In previous polls Gallup found that 69% of uninsured people weren’t even familiar with the exchanges. Clearly there is work to be done by the administration. If they want to force everyone to have health insurance, the least they could do is actually follow through with some of their promises. How is it they expect us to have insurance through their new program if it’s not even working? And never mind the fact that we are going to be penalized for their problems. This is a serious problem that the President and his administration need to address quicker than they have.
