Chris Matthews Picks a Fight with GOP Delegates

The day following the end of the GOP Convention, Chris Matthews decided it would be a good idea to get into an argument with some convention delegates at a Tampa restaurant. Apparently, as the MSNBC host was leaving the restaurant he heard some hecklers from inside and just couldn’t let it go. He decided to turn around and confront them.

In an interview with The Hill following the incident, Matthews told the story and recounted that he said to the gentlemen: “What’s this, a douchebag convention?” Spoken like a true adult.

He attempted to defend himself by saying, “I was trying in my way to engage, as I often do, with critics, hoping to find some common ground. Sometimes it works out better than this.”

Obviously Chris Matthews acted like a true professional when he decided to get in a spat with a few GOP delegates. Why is it not surprising to hear this from the same person who earlier in the week called Reince Priebus and the GOP rhetoric, garbage? It’s clear that this Hardball host was just a tad bit out of his comfort zone and decided it would be best to try and attack a group of innocent convention-goers as they were trying to have their meal.
