Twas the Night Before Christmas, Chris Christie Edition

Presented (almost) entirely for its entertainment value: New Jersey Governor Chris Christie performs Clement Clark Moore's iconic poem, "Twas the Night Before Christmas" at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, accompanied by the Boston Pops.

As I said, I shared this clip almost exclusively for purposes of Christmas season frivolity.  On another level, I think it underscores how cagey a political actor Christie is.  His critics try to paint him as an angry bully; this appearance projects a smiling governor cheerfully partaking in some holiday fun at a thoroughly apolitical event.  As such, he was greeted warmly by the Newark audience.  Independent from his policy positions, it's clear Christie has a knack for picking his spots carefully and running a very savvy public relations operation.
