Little-known independent candidate Deez Nuts is polling at nine percent in North Carolina, according to a new PPP poll. Nuts, who hails from a small town in Iowa, filed a statement of candidacy in July. (And yes, that's his legal name.)
When North Carolina TV station WTVD tweeted about Nuts' surge in the polls, many concerned Twitter users thought the account had been compromised. They reassured users that no, they had not been hacked and that Nuts is indeed polling fairly well in the state.

Nuts is also polling well in other states. Nuts polled at eight percent in Minnesota and seven percent in his native Iowa.
