Last night sources reported that the White House made the decision to extend Obamacare's March 31 enrollment deadline. This news didn't come as a shock to many since there have been so many delays, mistakes, and failures with this disastrous law and its rollout.

The reason for the extension is for those who are "struggling" with the enrollment process. This just goes to show just how unprepared the administration was in implementing Obamacare. The White House continues to make accommodations for its failures instead of fixing the fundamental problems.

Throughout the past four years the merits of Obamacare have been touted by liberal progressives but the reality of the rollout has been quite different. Four years ago it never would've been guessed that over six million people would lose their insurance, that only 25 percent of young people would enroll, and that liberals would be fleeing from their support for such a flawed law.

The Obama administration and liberals nationwide completely misjudged Obamacare and irresponsibly passed a law that has only worked to the detriment of many Americans. Over 30 delays have gone into effect since the passage of the law, proving that it was never ready for implementation. The White House made a grave error in assuming that Obamacare would be popular among the country's millennials, expecting that they wouldn't realize they were faced with picking up the hefty tab.

It is important to point out this delay for what it is, an accommodation for the White House to hopefully boost its enrollment numbers. What message is being sent to young people when there is no hard and fast deadline? Young America’s Foundation polling shows that 62 percent of young people are less confident in the federal government’s handling of major programs after the botched rollout of Obamacare. The perception that young people have of the federal government and this administration is that they are incompetent and incapable.

Interestingly, the Foundation’s poll also found that once young people learned that they had to provide personal and private information on healthcare.gov, they were 52 percent less likely to recommend Obamacare to their peers. Given the many issues with the website, this should be of major concern to the White House. No matter how many deadline extensions they provide young people are not comfortable with providing private information over a very insecure website nor do they want to encourage their peers to enroll. The bottom line is that the Obamacare is extremely unpopular with millennials and no extension will solve that problem.

Well, yet again the White House has proved to the American people that they are incapable of handling this monstrosity of a law. Obamacare has caused nothing but hardship for the very people it intended to help as well as businesses, doctors, and employers. Extending the deadline only perpetuates the massive headache associated with the rollout of Obamacare.

The deadline extension does nothing to help those who have lost insurance or who can't afford healthcare, it only aims to serve the administration to allow them to hopefully meet their enrollment requirement. This deadline extension is purely out of desperation rather than to the benefit of the American public.
