Here's Rick Perry's Debut Dance On Dancing With The Stars

On Monday night, 2016 presidential candidate and former Texas Gov. Rick Perry made his debut on the 23rd season of Dancing With The Stars. Perry, partnered with professional dancer Emma Slater, performed a cha-cha-cha dance to the song "God Bless Texas."

While Perry and Slater received the lowest score of the night, the routine was still praised for its charm and super-sized dose of Texas pride. Perry was praised for doing decently well in spite of his complete lack of dance background. The former governor cited wanting to dance at his daughter's wedding as part of his motivation for joining the show. Sure, it was hokey and "pedestrian," but in the context of a 66-year-old man who has never danced a day in his life, it was pretty darn good.

Tune in tonight to see if Rick Perry survives the cut and will get to come back next week.
