Virginia is not looking nearly as friendly to President Barack Obama as it did in 2008, according to a new poll from Quinnipiac University.
The president’s approval rating has fallen to 40% among registered voters in the Old Dominion, one of several states Mr. Obama used to broaden the Democratic map three years ago. Some 54% of Virginia voters say they disapprove of the job Mr. Obama is doing as president, and 51% say he does not deserve a second term. Back in June, the same poll showed voters were tied 48% to 48% on Mr. Obama’s job performance.
