Dem joins calls to bring Congress back from recess

The opinions expressed by columnists are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of Townhall.com.
Rep. Charles Rangel (D-N.Y.) said Tuesday that President Obama should call Congress back from recess to boost confidence in the economy.

"Even if we didn't do something, the president should call us back," Rangel said on MSNBC, arguing that Congress should prove it is working on the economy even if nothing is accomplished immediately. "People want to believe. We have given them no reason to believe. That's the reason our credit went down, and not because everyone doesn’t know that we will pay all of our debts."
