A Democratic congressman compared Rep. Allen West’s now-infamous e-mail tirade sent to Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz to the words of a fringe pastor in Florida best known for torching a copy of the Quran.

Rep. Michael Honda (D-Calif.) on Thursday defended Wasserman Schultz – his colleague on the House Budget Committee – and blasted West for his e-mail, which called Wasserman Schultz the “most vile, unprofessional, and despicable member of the US House of Representatives.”
