House progressive leader Woolsey likely to announce retirement

Rep. Lynn Woolsey (D-Calif.) is expected to announce her retirement next week after ten terms in the House.

Woolsey, who was elected to the House in 1992, will say she won't run for reelection in 2012 at her Northern California home next Monday, The Press Democrat of Santa Rosa, Calif. reported Tuesday, citing anonymous sources close to the congresswoman.
