I’d never heard the name Fani Willis before news circulated she was moving to indict former President Donald Trump for doing what Stacey Abrams did. No, not wiping out a buffet, Trump’s probably never eaten at one, but for questioning the results of an election. What made Abrams a millionaire makes Trump a felon, in the eyes of the chunky prosecutor, with nothing to lose. Fani has no downside – if she wins, she’s a hero who Rachel Maddow will slobber over in semi-regular appearances for finally “getting Trump.” If she loses, she’s a hero who Rachel Maddow will slobber over in semi-regular appearances trying to “get Trump.” Democrats win no matter what.
On the road to winning, Democrats are showing their hand. Willis is a nobody with a horrible record as a prosecutor – if she didn’t suck so badly at her job, you can only guess how many people would still be alive, with their murderers put in prison for lesser crimes before they were killed. But there is no punishment for leftists who fail unless that failure is failing to adhere to an extreme left agenda slavishly.
So Willis is now a folk hero, her image on candles and towels like she cured some disease rather than filed charges that, should there ever be a conviction, would be tossed out on appeal. Democrats elevate idiots.
And, of course, they fundraise off of them.
Don’t get me wrong, they fundraise for idiots too, and from idiots (what else would you call someone these ridiculous fundraising emails actually work on?), but the most money train is for idiots, from idiots, off idiots.

The dark money group 314 Action didn’t waste any time. With Nazi-like precision the left is known for, they pounced the day after Fani made her move. “Yesterday, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis handed down a historic 4th indictment against Donald Trump for election interference in Georgia,” the email opens. “Fani has a reputation as a ‘dogged prosecutor capable of securing convictions in high-profile and complex cases’ and became Fulton County’s first-ever female District Attorney.” For the quote, they cite the left-wing BBC, naturally, but they don’t link to it because we’re not dealing with people who need proof or sources.
“Leading the investigation into Trump’s attempts to overturn Georgia’s elections,” the email continues, “has made her a top target of Trump, the GOP establishment, Fox News, and conservatives across the country – especially now that she’s officially indicted him.” You do have to admire how Democrats insist it’s only politics when Republicans do it, it’s altruism and the dogged pursuit of justice when they do.
I went on to read, “We applaud her dedication to justice in the face of these attacks: Will you join us in thanking Fulton County DA Fani Willis for her years of hard work to hold Donald Trump accountable and bring him to justice once and for all?” No, I won’t.
It concludes, “In an age of rampant misinformation, it’s important to have fact-finders and truth-tellers like Fani Willis.”
Why do Democrats insist on elevating people in their midst to folk hero level? Fani Willis is a nobody who hasn’t done a damn thing except oversee the wholesale slaughter of human beings without consequence. Search the murder rate for jurisdiction and you’ll see a lot of “unsolved” crimes. Of course, you’d have to care about the murder of people to care about this, and since there’s no money in solving crimes for Democrats…
Here's where it gets even funnier: That first email came under the subject line, “Will you join us in thanking the woman who secured Trump’s 4th indictment?” Two days later came the exact same email, including opening with the word “Yesterday,” and literally nothing changed except the subject line, which read, “Let’s take a moment to thank the brave Fulton County DA who indicted Trump.”
When I ask how dumb Democrats think their donors are, the answer is that they are dumb.
Honestly, how lazy do you have to be to change work in the body of an email, not even the first word that changes the time frame completely? You either have to be a completely lazy moron yourself or have complete confidence that the people you’re sending the email to are too stupid to know when something significant in the news happened or remember two days earlier when you sent the exact same message.
There are lazy, and then there are Democrats.
Of course, there was a time when fundraising off a public official would have been frowned upon and denounced by that very public official, but that was back when Democrats had standards…
